    Re: Avocado

Hmm...I actually don't LIKE avocados at all...I had guacamole that a friend made once, and actually thought it tasted pretty good, but I made the mistake of drinking 3 bottles of wine with it, and decided the next day that I don't like guacamole, either.

The thing that gets me is the texture...it's so slimy. I'll keep trying them though...I should check out some recipes, I suppose.

      Re: Avocado

I love avacado and guacamole, I used to make it quite a bit when I was a kid. Since I've moved out to California I've had a problem with avacados and tomatoes. They make my mouth raw and sore and burning/tingling after eating them, so I've pretty much given them up =(.

        Re: Avocado

Just split one open and took two bites. YUCK! Just bland and yuck. I might try some other recipes with them. However I am just happy that you are not required to eat them on atkins.

          Re: Avocado

Avocadoes shouldn't be slimy. They should have a creamy texture, but not slimy. I make my guacamole more like a chunky salsa rather than like a baby-food puree.

Avocadoes are rather bland. That's why they do best when eaten with stronger ingredients like chilis and lime juice.
