  • Whey Protein Powder Question

Does anyone know the carb count for Whey protein powder? I tried googling it but couldn't find an answer. Next week I move onto OWL and I want to make my peanut butter chocolate smoothies but I can't remember if they are a good idea or not. They are really tasty and I love them for breakfast.

    Re: Whey Protein Powder Question

OWL rung 1 is for more veggies.

While the whey protein *might* be considered allowed, the peanut butter certainly isn't allowed until the nut rung in a few weeks.

The container your whey protein came in should have a nutrition label that will tell you exactly how many carbs. Some have a LOT some have very few.

I'm with Joy, you should do your OWL rungs in the proper order, so if you do come accross a food that causes you an issue, it will be easier to find out which one causes the issues.

And I also agree that different powders have different carb counts, you would need to look at the packaging.

And combining these two...if you do have problems, you can't tell which one gave you the problem. The whey or the peanut butter.

Now, don't get me wrong, i use both and sometimes together, but in the appropriate time frame. Peanuts, and peanut butter make me want to eat the walls.

Okay, I need to do more veggies for a few more weeks. No problem. I can't find my book and I could have sworn I got nuts on the next rung, but I can wait.
When I did make the smoothies I used Vanilla Whey, a spoonful of peanut butter, unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia, flax, a spot of cream and water and blended it all up. I drank one in the morning and I was not hungry for a very long time.

When you get to the correct rung (I left peanuts till the legume rung btw) you might need to add more cream than just a 'spot' to keep your ratios right. Try entering the ingredients into a blank day at www.fitday.com to see how much fat you will need to add to keep the protein ratio down to the 30%.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
