  • What do you put on your hamburger patty

I just saw a program on TV about barbeque and they were showing hamburgers topped with green salas and Mexican sliced cheese. We can't have the hamburger, but I bet we can come up with some great toppings, besides lettuce/Tomato and cheese
The combo that I best like is cheddar cheese and bacon.

It depends on how I feel.

Sometimes I like to mix wasabi mustard with mayo and smear that on my burger. Sometimes I go for the cheddar cheese, mayo, low carb ketchup, tomato, sliced onion, pickle and lettuce thing. Sometimes I'll put a hot salsa on top.

Blue cheese. A nice Roquefort or Stilton has a great flavor on a rare burger, and with some fresh ground black pepper, you don't need to use very much of your cheese allottment to make it a delicious treat.

Serve on low carb "bread" made with flax and beaten egg white, with a side of lettuce and a slice of grilled tomato, and you have an excellent low carb meal for any rung.

Hmm, I like lots of different things depending on my mood and what's in the fridge!

I like mine topped with bacon, sliced avocado, mayo and salt and pepper.

I like them grilled with low carb BBQ sauce and a slice of cheese.

I like them topped w/ sauteed onions and mushrooms and swiss cheese with mayo.

I like to stuff them with Blue Cheese then grill and serve with sauteed mushrooms and onions.

Darn it, now I'm hungry! :anger

I like to put things INSIDE my burger, such as:

2 small cubes of swiss cheese and a few mushrooms.

2-3 slices of pepperoni, 2 cubes of mozzarella cheese, diced tomatoes, oregano.

Bacon bits (homemade), 2 cubes of cheddar cheese, 1 tsp diced onions

1/2 ounce of cream cheese mixed with 1 tbsp of diced black olives and some garlic salt - mix in a food processor.

I make two very flat burgers, put any mixture in the middle, then seal the two burgers together and cook.

Just posting this made me hungry! LOL

It's really good for several things -- as a dip w/wheat bran crackers, and as a stuffing for butterflied pork chops (just seal the pork chop with toothpicks so it doesn't all leak out). This is my family's favorite pork chop recipe!

I will eat all the toppings and ditch the patty...I can not deal with hamburger patties .... :no ...ground meat in general is just not appealing ...and that is a bummer because this sounds good...so pile the toppings on a plate and I will give one of you my patty!!!

I think the toppings could also go on slices of roast beef or turkey
