  • I had pancakes for breakfast this morning...

    And they were AWESOME!!!

I found a recipe online for WHEY PROTEIN pancakes...

    Here is the recipe:

    WHEY PROTEIN WAFFLE / PANCAKES
    1/2 cup (2 scoops) Whey Protein (I used EvoPro Chocolate, 1 g net carbs per scoop, 26 g carbs per scoop = 2 g carbs & 52 g protein)
    1 egg
    1/2 c water
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp vanilla
OPTIONAL: 1 tbsp Da Vinci SF caramel or vanilla syrup
OPTIONAL: cinnamon (as much or little as you want)

Mix thoroughly and makes 2 pancakes

Since I used the SF syrup - even though technically the syrup IS 0 g carbs - i always count 1 tbsp as 1 g carbs

Now, I DID use some "sugar free" syrup - which has 13 g sorbitol carbs per 1/4 cup (i only used 2 tbsp or 1/8 cup - 1 tbsp on each cake)

    but WOW were they YUMMMMMY!
Definitely not something I will be eating every day, by any means (as there is a LOT of protein) - but a GREAT saturday morning option!!!

    so all in all:
    2 pancakes = 2 g carbs
1 tbsp SF syrup (in the pancakes) = 1 g carbs
2 tbsp sugar free maple syrup = I counted all 6 sorbitol/sugar alchol carbs for the 2 tbsp (although I don't think i do absorb them...)

but if you don't use the sf maple syrup - it's only 3 g for 2 pancakes!!

course, it's hard not to eat pancakes without drinking milk - but once i get into maintenance I'll be able to add in the Almond Milk.

here is what they look like:

    They look delicious. Yummmm
I tried the pork rind French Toast once and it was pretty good but just the idea that it was made with pork rinds turned me off.

Great job, and way to add a "normal" food back into your diet. I am a big believer that things like that make this WOE sustainable. I do the flaxseed and cream cheese pancakes, but it's the same principle.
