    Re: Induction Friendly Cinnamon Bun!

I was intrigued by this recipe. So I made it for breakfast this morning.

Well, gollllleeee....I feel like I'm cheating! This is just so cool! It's bread, no, it's egg, no it's flax!

Whatever, it's GREAT! Of course, I'm thinking of ways to play with it and make it interesting. Perhaps replace the cinnamon with unsweetened cocoa powder? And have a chocolately kind of thing? Hmmm.....Or cut it in half and put some of the 'icing' in the middle?

I did not use all the cinnamon. I got scared at 3 tablespoons...and not all the Splenda either, one pack in the bun and none in the icing.

Yep. A tad AFTER the fact mind you. D'OH!! S'okay, tuna & spinach salad for lunch, sans dressing was the plan of the day anyway.

Note to self....Read the whole thread before you go making ***-umptions that everything is totally as it seems. After all the forum-ing I've done, I should know better.

I made this the original way and it was great. Tonight, though, I decided to see if I could cut carbs. I left out the baking powder and didnt put any sweetener or cinnamon in the roll part. Then I just put about half a teaspoon of cinnamon and one packet of splenda in the creamy part. Still really good. I cant really taste a big difference, to be honest.

I made this today and it was great. I accidentally forgot the baking powder and it made no difference what so ever. I did not use 2 oz of cream cheese, I used about 1 oz (just enought to put over the top). I only used two tsp of cinnamon as well. According to the calculations I made it was about 6.93 grams of carbs. Not to bad for an owler like myself. I think it is so good I'm gonna make it when there is a b-day in my family so that I can have something for myself that won't blow my WOE.

we have all seen the 0 net carb amount on manufactures bags but you need to remember that is rounded for the label and only true for that serving size. most folk will tell you since the law lets them round down you should always round up .5 carbs each item. According to the USDA Flax has .78 net carbs for 2 T of meal.

many low carber have had bottles saying 0 carbs and thought it menat the whole bottle was 0 for the compound but when you are using it in higher amounts the carbs can add up quickly. spices that say 0 for 1/4 t seving can be over 94 net carbs for a cup.
