    Induction 2005

Well I enter my 17 month of Atkins and have not really cheated except once on NY day.

I have however carb creeped over the holidays after not losing for about 6 month and found I was getting hungry and lost a bit of my spark.

I know, I know, this is a phase and many of you have gone thru this and I watched many of you successful folks redo your induction and continue on fine so it has inspired me too.
Thanks to those of you who have blazed a trail before us and allowed us to see that re inducting appropriately does work!!

In the past I have witnessed those who carb creep and lose their spark often drop or quit the program and I can't do that as have 25 + lbs left to lose and have to control my diabetes.

I have had numerous ex members mainly from diabetes board getting in touch with me after I sent out Christmas wishes from those who had retired from our board and many of them were excited to come back to the board and to start over and re do induction as they had stopped the program.

Since I am at a similar phase of my life and restarted induction Jan 2 and am down 7lbs and feel so awesome I decided to make it an announcement on the diabetic board and the 50+ board that I mod for.

That way if any other members feel they need to do induction with us they will feel a sense of a team program and we can buddy up and support one another.

For sure, I do not want anyone saying we are abusing the program by doing induction so expect you to know Atkins book about re inducting, as I will not be and others will not be challenging those who make this decision.
    .
I invite all of you who appropriately feel you need to re do induction to join us.

We can post daily here if we wish about how we are coping; our struggles our success etc and hopefully it will inspire new folks to know this is a way of life and if you do fall off you can pull up your bootstraps and get back into the program.

Over the time here, I have seen many successful LOSERS here have to go back to induction, use it appropriately and then continue on their way of life….so happy 2005 folks and let me know who wants to join and why and hopefully we can keep each other inspired to keep at it, lose those pounds and feel better.

We have an exercise forum so you can use, we can use

to track our food and progress, our recipes section is an awesome support.

So we have a ton of resources not to mention those great members who have done this before and continue to succeed, we embrace you and invite you to share with us how it worked for you.

There are many knowledgeable mods and members here who know the program well, have had to get back on track themselves, as this is a lifetime struggle and not a diet so we have many opportunities to make it work….use the board and live well at ADBB.

Thanks for listening to my long post…. and hope to grab as many folks as possible who are interested in regaining their health back.

Its not too late…..bring the duct tape and jump on the wagon.

you can borrow my industrial strenght Atkins low carb butt glue for those who fall off or jump of easy.

remeber you got to do all parts of Atkins not just the poart you like like eating the under 20 net carbs. There is that mandatory exercise part of Atkins all phases too! Dr Atkins himself says in chapter 15 if you aren't exercising you aren't doing his program.

I'll be keeping an eye on y'all

          Happy low carbing.

That eyeball is scaring me 2Big LOL.

Canuck, as always I'm with you. Over the holidays I did more than carb creep, I carb lept. My DH and I did so much socializing.

I ate so much cheese, that I feel like one big cheese. I think my skin is turning into cheese rind. Also, I did the spit test, and you guessed it, I have a yeast overgrowth.

So, no more cheese or processed meats or mushrooms for awhile (truthfully, I don't want to look at cheese or deli meat I ate so much, but I will miss those mushrooms). Just whole veggies and fresh unprocessed meats.

Jumped back on the bike this week, and am using the exercise bands.

Taking it slow, because I am so black and blue from falling off the wagon.

ya binsk hide the bruises with duct tape, yer right 2 big its exercise too, I got permission to walk so am doing that but phsyio and doc made me quit yoplates and bow flex machine so don’t want to retear soft tissues more but I like walking. They said cant move more than 5% and will redamage tears since they were so severe and just rehealing so I don’t want all that pain back, I am almost pain free except in SI/pelvic region so am being cautious. They said I healed quickly due to eating a lot more protein than the average persons so that was good news.

Pass the butt glue around 2big as you see fit, its good for all of us

I worked my way thru rungs, I stayed on induction only two weeks when started as this is the way of eating for me forever, I feel so good too and can’t believe I am down 9lbs in 5 days on this turn, thought it might be slower but feel good and headache finally gone.

Had no signs of induction flu first time around.

Cravings gone, not in ketosis from how I feel but last time it took me a week so we'll see.

Good 4 myself and binsk, I knew you'd be with me.

2 big didn’t you join pirate’s ship or something when you folks were re doing induction, what was the scoop with that, I never did find out.I was in OWL then and doing fine so didn’t really read it a lot.

So ya I am walking, drinking water and doing low carb until hit ketosis then will move up rungs again as that worked for me. I am not one of those who stay induction long as like my veggies etc.

I'm with ya girl! I am at the goal i set for myself at the beginning- but find that I can still lose another 15 or so lbs. I too need to do induction- I never did it the first time- because I was WEAK! Now I know that I can do it- so I'm jumpin on with you guys!! Its those darn nuts that are my downfall!! I like those as much as a candybar! (I can't believe I just said that!) But it is true! Exercise is so hard for me- I love to walk too but still am having a problem with a bone spur- dang thing won't heal up- I really don't want surgery on it. We are going to Arizona for a month, we will take our bikes- so I will be able to gt some good exercise there. It is going to be great to get out of this cold- we got 14 inches of snow this week. That is probably nothing to you guys in Canada! Anyway, I am rambling, so good bye nuts- size 8 here I come!

several folk stole an old return to induction topic and I ask them if they were the pirated reinduction topic now and it stuck I can give you the links for getting your pirate names and jobs if you want.

                  http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate/ to get your name
                  http://www.talklikeapirate.com/ppi.html to get your job

I joined then when I went on my big virgin cheat munchie binge at the end of march beginging of April and then moved back to OWL when my ketosis was back but I was parasailing behind their ship keeping an eye on then and they had to do lots of rowing to keep me airborne

Yep, those nuts are my downfall! I wonder if they cause cravings for many people? They really don't cause me to crave sweets- just more nuts! I live in Nebraska- and we got 1inch of freezing rain and then all of the snow on top of it! We wish we had gone to AZ just a little earlier!!

Well, I have been on Induction since this past Monday and I have kept it between 25 and 21 gr of carbs. So far I am doing very well, but no ketosis yet. I tested it today and the strip remained beige. No change in color. I can't wait to lose 10 lbs. Let's see how long it will take.

Hey guys! :wave I restarted induction on the 3rd and haven't cheated once, nor do i feel the need to cheat. I had to make my husband brownies last night (today is his birthday) and i didn't even lick my finger, so i think if i can handle that then i can handle anything. I have not weighed myself yet ( i won't until monday), but i can tell that i have lost something because my clothes are fitting better. Also, i am getting a puppy tomorrow so i am sure i will lose some weight chasing her around! I just wanted to say i am here for all of you, and i am staying with atkins this time! Atkins is the best for with losing weight and maintaining my diabetes. I love this board and Canuck, and i can't wait until we all reach our goals!
