I really shouldn’t complain as living in mtns its unpredictable and chinook came thru and it is now 0 and raining, c'est la vie.

Julia that is good weight loss, hope you manage ok, it is stressful, I know when my mom died it was so hard and somehow you get thru it and it all becomes a blur.

So you are saying you can wear some of your mom’s clothes. I saved some of my moms favorites and they were always too small on me now they almost fit me so it is neat feeling, she had this fav blue plaid shirt she wore when she picked blueberries and I have a neat picture of her in it and now it fits me so I wear it camping, always feel like saying Hi Mom when I see it.

    Take care of you kiddo.

Julia, congrats on the weight loss. Keep hanging in there Ramblin, you're doing great. It was so nice to read about wearing your Mum's clothes. I guess we all have sentimental clothes, from weddings or other special events. I can put on a old out fit now and remember what was going on in my life when I used to wear it.

Things are going well at this end. Down 2 more pounds this week. I am finally back to where I was when I fell of the wagon. Today is the first day for DH to be on the anti-yeast diet. I sent him off to work this morning with a bag of cut up cauli and broccoli, and some meatballs. We'll see how long he lasts.

Take care and drink your water.

Binsk goodonya for the drop, I am at where I was and it’s like my body won’t go below.
I was at phsyio today to learn some new back and shoulder exercises to strengthen from my injury and she freaked when I asked about bow flex, yoga, pilates, anything, she said I could walk and not fast and that is it and I should be happy to be as pain free and as strong as I am considering and gave me such a frown I thought oh oh....wont ask this for awhile so will continue where I am. But the bracing exercises she gives me for movements really is helping my tummy, is can tell.It rained today and is about 36 now, isnt this weather s’mazing after the cold snap.

Canuck, Did I miss something a while back? What kind of injury did you have? It sounds like you are on the road to recovery- hope you can get back to your exercising soon. You are doing great with your weight loss again especially without much activitity.

Before your time here kiddo, Christmas eve 03 my son fell thru ice on rushing river ,almost got swept away and I saved him and it pulled out my neck, shoulder, spine and pelvis then I fell down flight a stairs in June and to stop self from rolling over forward I leaned back as knew I would break neck if crashed head over heels and so went down 13 hard steps on tail bone so two major injuries but am healing good now. Got more new back exercises and shoulder exercises. Lost 1.6 lbs too. so down to almost my lowest ever....

Wow, it sounds like you were one lucky person- and your son too! Or as I prefer to believe someone was watching out for both of you!! Isn't it great to get into those numbers on the scale you haven't seen for who knows how long!! Hey, have a great trip- sounds exciting. We are planning our trip up your way this summer- who knows- if we get up to Glacier- we'll pick your brain about things to check out!

Being good at this end 2Big. Weight only down 1 more pound, but an inch off the old waist. Still staying off dairy, processed meat and mushrooms.

DH has been great. He was in ketosis on the 3rd day when I tested him. He eats about 3 cups of cauliflower per day, plus 1/2 cup of sliced red pepper, then whatever protein and fat we are having that day. He also has 1 oz. of almonds everyday. And now he is eating pork rinds for a snack at night. I hope that his yeast problem will clear up quickly, as he is not overweight (about 200 lbs. and he's 6 ft.) He said that he doesn't want to drop below 180. Today is day 10 for him, and day 24 for me.

I'm doing ok, still workin' at it! Hard to find time to exercise, but I'm down 3 more lbs, so I'm at my lowest of lows now since starting this WOL. Just glad I was able to quickly get the extra weight I picked up while dealing with the hospital/funeral stuff. Having an appt with my regular fam prac dr this morning finally for my pap (long overdue), dont know that I'm going to tell her exactly what I'm doing maybe just that I'm cutting carbs in order to finally have some success with controlling my diabetes and go from there! I made sure the lab faxed her my labs from 11-30, so she'll have those. Nothing much else is going on, except trying to get some sleep! Livi has had her 4th day at day care without any potty accidents and we've lost her paci, so a couple of big milestones there! :yikes My baby is growing up! Daddy's doing ok I think-he's eaten dinner here 4 out of 5 nights this week so at least I know he's eating healthy for 1 meal a day. My nephew said yesterday that "grandpa was the only cool grandpa at school today" LOL, they had a Catholic schools week celebration and had a little dance assembly and Daddy got out there with them and danced!! Time to get Christian up and ready for school! Have a good day everyone!

Hello everyone. I've been having a tough week in the weight department. I am up 4 pounds and can't figure out why. Yesterday, I tried to up the fat and ate mostly chicken wings with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing, this morning my BG was 6.9, it has been around 6.3, 6.4 since New Year's. DH is doing great, he's in ketosis (I'm so jealous). He started exercising last night (after I nagged him), he is down from 200 to 192.

I will have to just hang in there and see what happens.

                          Drink your water.

Drs appt went well! She was pleased with my weight loss and thinks my goal of 150 is setting myself a big goal, but not impossible. When mentioning weight loss-the first thing out of her mouth was "you're not doing atkins are you?" I said "well, yes, with diabetes drs approval-let me tell you about it.....told her what I was eating/how much/what vitamins/what I was NOT eating/how much I was trying to exercise but that it hasnt been consistent since Mommys death last month." She was fine with it when I explained it, but in the beginning she wasn't-go figure...I think these drs don't even know what Atkins is all about-they just have a negative viewpoint. Oh well, I'm already planning on taking her a book when I get closer to goal! I had my pap finally, had an EKG and she wants me to have a stress treadmill next month due to my age and my moms extensive heart condition. She wants me to add in some calcium and Vit D so I need to check into that! Just wanted to give you an update!

Hi Everyone. I am still having problems with my weight. Still up that 4 pounds, and have tried a number of things this past week. More exercise didn't work. One day I had only chicken broth for 24 hours as I had an upset stomach. This is very frustrating. DH is doing well, and is actually looking a bit too skinny. I think I will up his carb and calorie level this week.
