Oh wow! Does that count for silver when we get to the top (the first time being bronze??? )? If so, there'll be the challenge to go for gold.... after a lengthy rest climbing other stuff!
I'm setting off now towards the 3500 mark!

i hear ya on the rest, sal. after everest, i'm going to finish up the rest of the mountains in this group, claim another award for the set and then i think i'll tackle some of those mini climbs again. but, i think a third venture up everest at some point would be very doable. it was so much easier this time!

                    Hi,
I just made three trips lugging grocery bags up ONE flight of stairs, huffing and puffing each time (my kids and DH usually bring up the packages but no one was home when i got there). This is really something that i really need to work on - ONE FLIGHT makes me HUFF and PUFF - how crazy is that??? so i'd like to join the challenge if i may and pledge:
Millennium Dome, England 320 steps 21 flights
to start off with and hopefully will build stamina along the way. Stairmaster used to be my favorite machine at the gym but alas i haven't been a member of a gym in more than six years! Looking forward to getting addicted to this challenge - see you at the top!

Jimmie... haven't been able to update for two or three days (and oops... I forgot to put "base camp 3500")... been stuck on a ferry that couldn't get to destination due to high seas... but have just now updated to 3376. Was a little short of stairs down in the islands, but made up for it on the ferry, climbing up and down between decks .

Welcome to this cool challenge Soon2bslim!

Thanks for the welcome Sallyseachange - You are so right that this challenge is purely ADDICTING!!!! (And so much better than a chocolate addiction)! I'm feeling energized already in a big way!

I went from huffing and puffing yesterday, to just puffing a bit and managed to do 11 flights on Wednesday!!!! Hurray! BUT the best thing is that instead of sending my kids upstairs or putting things at the bottom of the stairs to bring up in one trip - I'm actually looking for reasons to climb the stairs - finding excuses to be there - even just 2 use the bathroom in the MBR - (there is one on the main level of the house but it doesn't require a trip up the steps). May be my laundry will actually get folded and organized today - the laundry room is upstairs on the bedroom level.

I hope to complete theMillennium Dome, England 320 steps 21 flights TODAY!!! Then on to another bldg!!! I'm sooooo excited about this challenge and being able to RUN UP the stairs minus the huff and puff and full of energy!!!

Isn't it great the way this challenge makes us look for flights to climb?!! I was the same at the beginning (still am)... and after a while, even bought an aerobic step on ebay. That was really a help with the longer climbs.

Millennium Dome, England 320 steps 21 flights!!! Starting on Big Ben, England 632 steps 5/42 flights for today!
I brought down the garbage today and as i was leaving my daughter asked if i would like her to take it downstairs. Boy, did i get a funny look from her when i said 'no thanks' and proceeded to run down and right back up, energetically! I love being able to sprint up the stairs - and it only took about a day and about 10 flights or so to lose the huff and puff and find the zip in my step. I LOVE this challenge!
