Forth Bridge completed ... now climbing BT Tower

I'm starting to do more flights a day so I'm glad the buildings are getting a little taller!
Since I don't come across many stairs in my average day, I struggled to do more than 4 or 5 flights at first. Now I'm up to 15

I thought of buying a step thingy so that I don't drive my neighbours completely crazy by tramping up and down the stairs outside their apartments. How do you use a step for this challenge? Do you step up onto it with both feet or just one foot? Or kind of one foot on it and then step over? I do not have much experience with gym equipment

EDIT: Now I see there are two types of thing ... a basic step that you step on, and a machine with two steps that go up and down ... no idea what to get

sorry for the later reply, girls. i did see the email replies though and got your finished climbs recorded to the total.

GOOD JOB TO BOTH OF YOU!

rosie, what i do when i use my stool is count one going up to the step, another going up [with the other foot] and then i step to one side, and again count one going up and another going up with the other foot. i then step down to the opposite side, repeat with the counting and then step back to the start. i get quite a work out doing it this way.

Ahhhhh... ya got me... what I would give for a chance to do this.

OK - Since mayhem still prevails, but I gotta let you know how lost I am so you can call off the search effort, I'm sticking to a rule that WORKS for flights (for me anyway):

Scenario: My 1st morning alarm is 6 am. I have to get out of bed to turn it off - mind you, it IS an unavoidably obtrusive alarm!

The rule is - I can ONLY hit SNOOZE. (this gives me 9 minutes before the next snooze).

Of COURSE, I do NOT want to get up before I have to; which is at the critical point at which my DS must be actively getting ready for school, which is about an hour's bus ride away.

This means 4 -5 more times befoe the deadline, that the alarm forces me to get up, & hit SNOOZE!

The next period of time, Ive got DS up, fed him, given his meds, checked pack, lunchbox, paperwork etc. - bus is around 7 am.
There's 2 -3 more trips to hit snooze before he is off to school - BUT now it is upstairs.

I'd like to go back to sleep just a leeeeetle bit... (SO I can ONLY hit snooze...) & upstairs again, for about 1/2 hour, I do same as part one above, but then I'm getting up.

All my own get ready routines are downstairs, so every 9 minutes, I run upstairs, cuss at the alarm and hit snooze.

And then there's trips to get the stuff I forgot to bring down with me ... etc..

The good news - I'm averaging before I'm off to work, a decent bit of excercise, which includes 7-8 flights of stairs on average, a few minutes apart.

The bad news - I'm no longer on Everest; I've had no choice but to compromise my liberty (time for web stuff not work related) to make ends meet under the constraint of time = money.

On the up side, though, It definitely pays to stick to your priorities!
"I'm 29" again... up a few pounds from my lowest over the summer, but holding steady, amidst the strife and turmoil that could be the downfall of many a person's willpower on any but the Atkin's Diet!
