      good job, sal!
what will be next for you? are you making plans to climb everything?

i am really thinking the if a member climbs all the buildings and/or the mountains, there needs to be an award. i'll have to get busy on that.
any suggestions on what an award should look like?

Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

I've done one flight each of the past 5 days. Taking it slow since I have cranky knees! So, for my first goal of the Millenium Dome, I'm 5/21.

stacy! good to have you trying this challenge out! my knees where so bad before i lost my weight. i would have never been able to do this back then. i am thinking maybe you will have the same type of improvement as you continue to lose.

i thought it would be cool to post a pic of what we are climbing. i posted Slieve Donard in one earlier post.

sal is treking upwards to the minute hand on Big Ben:

It's nice to see what I'm climbing!!!

Jimmie - I have very little cartilege in my left knee, so I need to be careful about not overdoing it on the stairs - BUT, yes, as I lose weight, I notice that I am moving a lot better! I'm up to walking about 3 miles per day and will get in more stairs as my body permits. I'm looking forward to conquering each and every one of these step challenges!! Maybe I can climb Kilimanjaro by the end of the year?!?! Hmmmmm . . .

i hear ya, stacy. years of high impact aerobics did me in. i hope i never have to have a knee replacement but the high impact stuff really did a number on me. that and the added weight made it nearly impossible to climb up a ladder more than once. my knees would just give way.

i plan on climbing each and every one of them too! see ya at the top! lol

Hi stacy! Nice to have you join this fun challenge!

Jimmie! What a brill idea to post pics of our climbs! Brings it home to you! Maybe the award should be a pic of Mount Everest (is Everest still the highest mountain in the world, or have they discovered another?)!

Nearly at the top of Ben... should make it by Sunday... hey! Wait a sec! I just this minute ran and checked my totals and... I've already got there!!! Gone past the top by two flights!!! YAY! And I didn't even realise it! Oh boy it feels good to be riding that minute hand... the view is way better than from the London Eye!

Now onward to... ummm... I think, maybe... hmmmmm... oh, I know... I'll follow you up Slieve Donard, Jimmie! Never been to Ireland before... Maybe there'll be a cool Guinness at the summit. You'll be there before me, so let me know!

Will work out how long it'll take me to climb it later on. And yes... I certainly do plan to conquer the lot of them!

                  Happy climbing everyone!

                    you silly sally.....

                    FANTASTIC CLIMB, SAL!

CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING IT TO THE TOP
                    AND
                    RIDING THE MINUTE HAND!!!

i think i'll make one more spreadsheet and just keep track of who finishes what and that way i'll know when one of us has finished all the mountains and all the buildings.

yes, mt. everest (or the tallest of all mountains) would be a good little award. so it stands to reason, the tallest building should be the award for those climbs. sound good to you guys? maybe we could plant different flags in our awards? i could climb them all and plant the u.s. flag and sal, you could plant italy's flag! that would be so cool! i need to get working on that!

Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

Wow Jimmie... Thanks sooooo much for the colourful congrats! I'm sure I don't deserve 'em as Ben is a bit of a mini climb. Now Everest... well Everest does seem a daunting climb, even without the dreaded 'death zone'!! Don't think I'll try that one for a while!!

Just love the idea of planting flags. Being a transplanted Brit, I guess I can choose which flag to plant...but having lived in Italy more years than anywhere else (and loving it so) maybe you're right: I should opt for the green, white and red!

Ok...did a few calculations and hope to conquer Slieve Donard by the end of June. By that time you'll probably be half way up Kilimangiaro Jimmie, the rate you're steaming ahead! How you manage to do your flights all together is amazing! You're going to have the best thighs in the US!

Well Done Jimmie!!!! You did that in record time! That US flag looks mighty good waving in the Irish breeze!

I'm a way behind you... with eighty-two flights done so far... but sooner or later there'll be another flag beside yours... a little lower though as you were the first to conquer!

You're doing the Dome all in one go? Wow! Very inspiring!

your flag is gonna sit on the same level as mine! we'll make that mountaintop super beautiful! 82 flights done is good! that's 1/4 of the way!

i wonder how sadie and stacy are doing?
