Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

Evererest climb is kicking my butt...
But I have lost 4lbs in the process !!!
My son told me I was loosing my gut! Finally broke the 200lb. plateau I've been on for a couple of weeks.
My wife thinks I'm OCD doing so much stairmaster...but she really is supportive!
Hopefully will be done in a few days and I can start another climb.

sal, i had to giggle at one of the pictures i found of big ben. they had "inserted" a guy on the clock face to show the comparison of size. i just laughed thinking there's sal! getting ready to grab the minute hand!

i appreciate the ones that are promoting this challenge in their signatures. sometimes it takes awhile to get people use to the idea of a new challenge.

jack, let us know when you reach the top of everest!

sally, see the little person they placed on the clock face? that is one big clock!!!!!

The face of the Great Clock of Westminster. A 5 foot 4 inch person (1.63 m) has been inserted into the picture at correct scale. The hour hand is 9 feet (2.7 m) long and the minute hand is 14 feet (4.3 m) long

Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

                      Jimmie,
Don't sweat it! The weather is getting real nice out so I will probably start hiking with the dog. The dog has been getting bummed out sitting on the couch watching me spend mega time on the stairmaster. She gets real happy when I take her for walks. I live a stones throw from the Tenn. Pipeline. It is very steep and rocky and makes great training ground for my hikes. I will still try to spend about 45min a day on the stairmaster but these 75 to 90 min. sessions are eating up a bunch of free time.
                      Have a good one!

Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

I was just lucky that I'd spent the last 6 weeks on the stairmaster so I was prime for the climb. I can't believe I dropped 7lbs in the process...That was the big payoff!
I will probably knock off a bunch of smaller climbs next week, but I really want to get outdoors next week and do some hiking with the dog. I may sneak up to New Hampshire before work on Tues. and Climb Mt Manadnock. It is probably one of the most climed mountains in the US. It has a very nice rock peak with 360 degree views. It is about 3300' in elevation and is about a 3-4 hour round trip.
Have a great Memorial day weekend everyone!
I wish everyone lots of willpower at those backyard bar-b-ques!
