No, I joined a gym. Not because I wouldn't like to have my own gym at home, but there is simply not enough space. When my sons move out, then one of their rooms will be a gym, mwahahahahahahahahaaaa. I always get annoyed when my husband nags me like that, however, he's being supportive. So, go get on that bike and make him happy!

Great!!!!!!! Keep up the good work. That was just super for your first day in! You'll be surprised that it gets easier, and you can go longer, each day. Oh wait! You've done the eliptical before. You know what I'm talking about. Anyway, the first day is the worst in my opinion (and the soreness from it). But later, the exercise makes you feel better.

So, how did your new eliptical feel? Are you happy with it? Oh, and if you are happy with it, which one did you get? I'm sure others are in the market for one and would like to hear your review.

Keep on cycling!!! I'm back at it again tomorrow (took 1 day off) and I can't wait.

Re: Biking/Treadmill/mileage Challenge! Join if you're excercising in miles.

Well have a build up of exercise machines that have been gathering dust forever. We have a weight machine, an eliptical, and a stationary bike annnnndddd a total gym. They take up half the garage...We moved to our present house 2 and a quarter yrs ago and until last month, I just walked on by all of this stuff...
Now, I feel like it's a huge blessing to be able to get up and get on with it. I am a huge "do it first thing" person. I will go out of my way, get up even earlier if need be to exercise and have it done with. Tho I like it, the longer in the day I go, the harder it is to get myself to do it.
3 days a week, I go down and go thru a circuit, elip for legs, then something on the weight machine for arms, back over to the total gym for squats(legs) then free weights for arms...Low weight, high rep, moving quickly thru the circuit, 3 times, in 25 mins...equals a diverse cardio workout...breaks up the long bike rides...
It's gonna be fun working out with all of you guys. Keep checking in at STAC and motivate the group over there, we need it...Keep up with pstansel, He is our exercise zombie right now, adding more challenges and exercise to his life, weekly. He amazes me! He goes up 32 flights of stairs in the morning to his office. The weight is flying off him! Dragonflymoon is another high exercise chick, she is always kicking butt on something....
            Eat, Exercise, Water...it's that simple.

Thats very quick! Especially on an eliptical trainer. Are you sure it wasnt 3.2 kilometres?

Btw, I am likely to be unable to cover any distances for quite a while due to my toe.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Jeraca if that is the case, thats absolutely fantastic. 3.2 miles would normally take me at least 37 minutes, a lot of people would stuggle to run 3.2 miles in 20 minutes. and running is much quicker than the eliptical.

If you are using the eliptical at the speed then you are a very very fit person. Congratulations.

Biked 10 in 31:58. My goal is to keep that ride in the 32 minute, 2 out of 3 times a week. I am under projection today, quite an achievement!

                    Hi again,
I will email the company to make sure it is not kilometers. I do not want to deceive anyone especially myself. I am definately not a very fit person. If I was I would not be 89 lbs over weight. It reads mph.

well, you two.... after the pm's let us know if it was indeed miles or if something else took place and it's kilometers, okay?

i don't know if biking will happen today. i have sent the rail kinda high for me with the other stuff that i do. i can't seem to get in the slim in 6 stuff done anymore. if i don't show up each day, don't panic.

edit to add i biked 5.7 miles today

                        21.4 this month

Wow! You 2 are doing great. I'm going to the gym later tonight. I've been busy all day and have a 7pm parents meeting. I'm going to workout after that then I will post when I get home.
