    Re: November Exercise VIDEO Challenge

    Today: WATP Walk/Jog

A new thing I noticed while getting ready this morning...my girls must be shrinking because their little holders are getting loose and having wrinkles in them. (sniff) The hips were going down, but I sorta wanted to keep the other because I've always been smaller on the top -- I like it to balance out a little more (this from a pear). But, I guess if this means they are firming up from the exercise, then I'll take that!!

I think I'm going to start Pilates too since my tum tum isn't going down as much as other things, it seems. That always seems to make me lose an inch in the waist.

Well, I'm leaving for work and I'll see ya in a little (if the boss isn't there).

    Happy FRIDAY!!

      Re: November Exercise VIDEO Challenge

I will commit to 23 videos for November- I am already a video collector. I have every kind ever made, I think.

Anyway, I am trying to do 5-6 a week

3 Pilates, 1 Tae Bo, 1 Firm, and 1 The Grind (MTV dance video)

And I am trying to use my Gazelle for 30 minutes or so while I am watching TV at night.

Do you think that will help me lose weight? (I am on week 3 of induction)

        Re: November Exercise VIDEO Challenge

Absolutely that will help, Ashley! But, keep in mind that if you are just now starting to ramp up your exercise, that sometimes the body holds on to some extra water weight until the muscles get used to it. But, if you haven't already, I strongly encourage you to do your measurements. Even if the scale is slower than you'd like it to be, with all that exercise you'll surely drop inches!

Also, it's awesome you have such specific goals in mind. But, I do want to warn you that they are probably a little aggressive, especially as you get down closer to your goal. I'm all for setting goal weights, and even putting time goals around them, but I'd just caution you to be as realisitic as possible. For instance, I want to lose 9 more pounds by Christmas. I've been losing at a much faster rate than that, but I know that the holidays are a tough time, and that it's easy to over indulge, even in legal foods. Anyway, you just may want to consider not having such stringent timed goals... you can do everything right and the weight may still come off slowly. BUT, it WILL come off. Just ask SillyGirl about SLOW losses at the end.... right, Silly?

Congratulations on your losses so far -- that's great! Joining a challenge is the smart thing to do to help keep you going. Check in every day to report your progress -- and check on others. We all keep each other motivated. Welcome!

          Re: November Exercise VIDEO Challenge

OMG, you guys! I think Kat and I created a monster with this challenge. Who knew there was so much pent up demand for video exercise... and that we'd all be so pumped about it!? It's really cool to see! I even had to take written notes on this thread so I could be sure to remember everything I wanted to say...

First of all, KUDOS to Tam, Val, LisaJ, Rachel, Tryin, and Kat for logging another video (or 10 in the case of Tam!).

Val, I haven't heard of "I want that body" -- but I like the title b/c I'm sure that I want that body, too. How hard (as in complicated) is it? Do you like the instructor? That makes a big difference to me...

Rachel, it's awesome to see you so motivated and feeling great! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm sure you'll be doing that whole body workout in no time...

Tryin, I did the same video (Brisk 2 Mile Walk) you did last night. It was the first time I've tried that one, and I liked it. The only thing -- I wish it had a little more arms throughout. Not alot, but there were times where I felt like my heart rate could have been a little higher. My four-year-old daugther who was doing it with me, however, gave it 2 thumbs up, mainly because she liked that they all had on matching pink shirts and matching purple stretchies. (Except the man, who didn't have a pink shirt, but does have strong muscles and a purple stretchie, she pointed out.)

Barb, you are too funny. Show that little pip squeak who's boss!

And finally, CathyJo.... do you have an endless supply of graphics??

My official report... 1 of 16 (Brisk 2 Mile Walk).

          YOU NUTS ARE AWESOME!

                Welcome Aboard, Ashley!!

Exercise is the key to speeding up your metabolism and losing inches! A while back I read someone's post that said something like they went down two dress sizes yet remained the same weight. So, like Adena mentioned, don't rely on the scale to tell you what's really going on, but go by how your clothes fit and how you feel.

I'm glad you signed up to join us!! I'm looking forward to great results for all of us by the end of the month!!

Isn't it amazing, Rachel... if we follow all the steps Dr A laid out for us, all at the same time, it works. Imagine that!

That sounds like me. If I get one thing done good under my belt, I'm lacking in the other. Right now they have all come together for me and it feels really nice.

Keep up the good work, girlie!!

I loved the picture. I could actually go for some kleenex today. My legs and arms are so achy and I want to cry.

Kat- I too am a pear and I don't know why breast meat has to be the first thing to disapper as you shape up.

Barb-I'm glad you showed Debbie who is in charge. I've been avoiding her but shouldn't be.

Adena- I love the "I want that body" video. It has two 15 minute segments for arms, buns and abs. You can pick and choose which ones you want. I like Tamilee Webb in this video and love the arm workout because it requires weights and you can really feel it working. 15 minutes is a piece of cake and it goes pretty fast.

Has anyone tried Leslie Sansone's pilates video? I have it but never tried it. I forget about it but it might be a good one to try today because my muscles are fried.

I got that DVD last week, but haven't tried it yet. Wanna try it together and go for it tomorrow sometime or make it our Monday workout? Then we can report back in...

Despite my achy, heavy legs that make me feel like a body double for Mr. T, I did a 2 mile WATP thinking it would loosen things up. It didn't and I want to cry like the baby I am.
