Wow, Jimmie - you know how to unpack and get setup from a move fast! Love the pics.

I've not done as much as I'd like in the yard. First I had a cold, then I got a bad case of poison ivy from removing all the honeysuckle, and then I got a stomach bug. Most of the yard is waiting on DH to do his part. The 3 main things I am waiting on him for is putting up the new shed, building a deck around the pool, and tilling the corner of the yard where we are putting the play area. After that I can do everything on my own.

cynthia, when you've moved as many times as i have, you learn to get it done in good time. with jack at work, it goes faster.
don't you hate waiting on the person to get their part done so we can get our stuff done? that drives me nuts!

i've spent time in the kitchen today, hanging all my chicken things.
        i have:
        * a few chicken hooks left
        * some collector plates which i will need jack for. the wall is too long for me to measure on my own
        * one chicken picture needs to get hung up

i got a miniblind for the living room today and got it put up. got started on the curtains in the kitchen but won't be able to finish those till jack moves the new exterior door out of the way. it's leaning on one of the windows. the other window is getting replaced so i can't do much with it either.

i hung up a bathroom shelf and put the knicknacks on it.
i'm just down to the little things now. sometimes, those take the longest but i'm making pretty good progress. and i exercised today and started our new bank account!

i don't know what all i'll have to get done next month but i have certainly earned my award for may! right, sal? i've earned an award, right?

Wow jimmie, I have the exact same TV stand as you. My, you have good taste...lol. It's the same color as yours, and it's very hard to move. That's why it's set in the same space for years. I can't even talk any of my guys around here into moving it. Your house looks cute. I love your quilt that's on your bed, and the color of your living room furniture. Bright and airy. Are you finished moving?

Cynthia, you have had lots to deal with lately. Poison Ivy is the worst! My dh gets it every year, and we end up taking him to the doctor most times. He's very allergic.

Well, I've started with getting ready to paint my closet. Tonight I have moved everything out which took a lot longer than I thought. I vaccumed the shelves and the floor. My couch is full of our clothes, and most of mine I cannot even wear...too small. I don't even know where I've gotten all these clothes. I looked at this pile and thought, it looks as if I shop all the time, and I really don't. Makes me sad I can't wear them. Oh well, I have it cleaned and ready to paint. I'm trying Sally, I'm trying. I just have to run and get the proper paint, drop cloth and a few things to begin. Getting it ready takes longer than painting.

mickkey! that's amazing! where did you buy yours? we got ours at rhodes in pensacola quite a few years ago. yes, it is a bear to move. easier when it's empty but still, it's a massive piece of furniture. that's what you get for buying an all wood product. did you know that same exact entertainment center was used in an episode of the Lone Gunmen? that was a spin off series (short lived) of the x files. see, your tv center is famous! lolol

i've got one lousy chicken hook that i can't find a place for. grrrrrrr.

done moving, yes, but still hanging all the curtain, blinds, small pics and the last room will be the craft/catch all room. i think it's going to turn into the collections room.
            jimmie stuff
            lara croft stuff
            x file stuff

good luck with your painting! i hate that job but get stuck with it all too often. maybe after all the challenges you're in, you'll be able to wear those clothes!

Oh jimmie... sorry, not until the last little knick-knack is up in place.

Kidding! Of course you've earned it! Ten times over if you ask me, after such a mammoth job! And it's yours at the end of the month! (Or do you think I should give 'em out before?). It'll seem strange giving you an award that you made in the first place!

Cynthia, it's soooo irritating when your raring to go and can't because you need to wait on someone else doing their bit. Tell your DH that your award is at stake, so he's gotta get going! Sorry to hear you've been in the wars with colds, tummy bugs and poison ivy . If, as they say, things go in threes, you should be in the clear now! Fingers crossed.

Mickkey... keep at it! Sounds like you're getting there. And just think... all those "too small" clothes on your couch will fit you sometime soon!

nah, we have to wait till the end of the month. that's fair and it gives us these last days to get the things the things done we wanted to accomplish for may. i can wait but i do get excited when i have something else to display.

Well, it has taken many hours of free time in May, but I finally finished my challenge! All of my non-fitting clothes are gone (we are talking decades of stuff)!! Outta here!! What a royal mess it was, trying on, bagging up, rehanging, laundering, sorting, and sneezing at all the dust. I showed no mercy to those out-of-date, out-of-style, out-of-size relics!! Many calories expended.

Now I can use some closets again. For new stuff. what a relief and a new beginning.

Congrats Ncarolina on your hard work! Isn't it a great feeling to have "unburdened" yourself of the old stuff? And you get a feeling of no-going-back too, I bet. Come the end of next week the award is yours!! Good for you!

ncarolina! good work on your part! don't you feel a real sense of accomplishment?
tell me, would you have been this far along with the cleaning out and up and gone if this challenge had not come along?

i'm as done as i can be!
i have this one little box of stuff but i don't know if i am putting that stuff out or not. it's going to the basement till i figure it out. i have a pile that is going to goodwill. i've put cutain rods on hooks where there was hooks, placed curtains in rooms where they are going, got the nasty bad kitchen floor mopped, vaccumed the entire house,
all the pictures are hung and i even got the measuring done that i THOUGHT i needed jack for. where there's a will, there's a way!

i'm looking around and thinking not bad, not bad at all.

                      thanks for the challenge, sal!

okay i just found one thing i forgot to put in place. i have a cermaic duck head that serves as a towel holder in the bathroom. it was hidden on the bottom shelf of the bathroom cabinet. i'll get it put up today. i need to, we have no towel racks in the downstairs bath.

i bought a few mini blinds last night and i have 2 of them up. i'll get the other one taken care of today.

i'll be mowing again today and i think i need to get some boxes broke down so the kid coming this week end can get his stuff in the basement.

neighbors? i got a baptist preacher on one side of me and an alcoholic on the other. haven't met either one yet.

Goodness, I've been a bad kid not keeping up with everyone here! From reading through the posts, it sounds like folks are just doing great.

I'm actually looking forward to May ending, and it's all do part to Sally's wonderful challenge! My world is almost organized, and I must say, I don't think I would have put effort into making some changes and cleaning things out if it weren't for the challenge...Thank you, Sally!

Goodness, Jimmie has done a wonderful job packing, unpacking, and putting away! LOL on the neighbors.

I'm almost done with my goals and will report in when completed

Today, I'm buying a highback 2-seater rocker to put on the back patio, and I might even splurge to buy a couple of nice planters to put out there. Hubby hooked up the hoses for me in the back yard, because they're so darn heavy to do, and I just have to go out hose it down, remove the spider webs, and wipe everything down and I think I'll call it good for a nice little retreat for the summer.

                                Happy thoughts for finishing
