    Re: Week #1 Pedometer Challenge

brady, I would think to wear it all day to get your total per day! Everything counts when you feet are moving!

      Re: Week #1 Pedometer Challenge

Mickkey - yep, it's perfectly ok to count the steps from your milage challenge for this challenge.

Deb - Sure, it's ok to join! When I first started wearing a pedometer I was lucky to get 5-6,000 steps in a day. A couple weeks ago I would get in between 17-20,000 on workout days and 9-12,000 on non-cardio days. I'm having plantar faciitis problems with my foot, so I'm backing off a little, but I still think I can get 10,000 steps a day. We all have to start somewhere!

Hi Brady - glad to see you joining us. You count all the steps you take throughout the day. I put mine on as soon as I get dressed and take it off when I get undress for bed. And I will also wear mine on my shoe on the inside of my ankle if my pants don't have a pocket.

Really? The instructions on mine say to wear it on the top of your pants just to the left or right of the fly for proper accuracy. If you wear it on the shoe, how does it count the other step?

hmmm - I hadn't thought of that. I need to find my instructions. I could have sworn it said the shoe was ok. But you do have a point

OK, just read my instructions. It doesn't mention anything about shoes, but it does say do not wear in a pocket. It also said if you wear wearing a dress or pocketless pants to wear it clipped to your underwear - with the pedometer between you and your underwear. It was my fitness instructor at the Y who said it was ok to wear on your shoe :/

                Re: Week #1 Pedometer Challenge

I have no idea how many steps I take, probably less than I think. I'll start off low at 35000 this week.

Thanks, Cynthia for starting this challenge!

Interesting Brady! I'll try mine both ways, but I still don't get how the other foot gets a step counted!

Zencyn, this is your challenge, you can do what you want! It is good that you're taking it easy on the feet though if you're having trouble.

HI Cynthia - I'm in! I have a pedometer but so far its not showing any of my steps. Don't know whats wrong with it. I'm shooting for 10,000 per day initially.
If I go well this week, I'll up it for next week.

Thanks for getting this going Cyn. Now if only I can get this silly thing moving! The pedometer not me of course!!!lol

I just want to place a bet that we have all underestimated our daily steps. Granted, I walked today, but it's only 7:40 and I've already gone 4537. Woo Hoo!

Thats fantastic Sillygirl. I only got my pedometer to work at 1400 and its now 1552 so after a couple of hours I've done only 827. But I reckon I could defintely add another 2000 or so onto that for this morning. And I haven't done my treadmill yet. Will tune in later with results!
