So, I did week 2 twice (just finished day 3 today). Today was probably the toughest one yet! I was thinking that maybe it is because TOM is around the corner and I had cramps when I started out. Then I was talking to my friend who is doing this with me. She said that she read on the running site that running is harder on someone who is eating a low carb diet? My appetite has been really low lately and thinking back, today I ate 2 eggs for breakfast, a hard boiled egg and a green pepper for lunch and nothing else before my run. Perhaps I need to beef up the calories/protein on a run day?

If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

    Still not giving up though.
Yeah, that is why I am going to get used to my other exercises bwfore starting this one.

Here is something cool that Joy found! She put it in Adena's journal and I stoled it! http://www.active.com/donate/tntntx/jeffwelch

You can make a running playlist with timed music with a beep in between for when you need to walk and run. I havent tried it yet. My iPod was stolen in Mexico

Floyd - thanks for the insight. I run in the evening and when I woke up the next day I was hungry. I think it was a combination of things the other day. I could not run today because of the bad weather. Tomorrow is no good either because it's hubby's shift. So, I will get up early on Sunday and run. My friend told me to get some inserts that she got. She said it was like night and day for her. So, I will get them first.

TOM is finally here, hopefully the worst will be over on Sunday.

Porcelain, thanks for the info. I have a shuffle so I will check it out. That sure would be easier than looking at the stop watch!

I would trip and fall down if I had to look at my watch that much. Luckily, when I start, I will use my treadmill so I can look at that counter. I wish they had programs like that built into treadmills. Maybe they do on the real expensive ones.

Completed my run yesterday. The inserts were a big help. I was able to push the run to 2 minutes for a couple of cycles. I am planning on running tomorrow morning before work but my insomnia has been acting up and it's hard for me to get up in the morning sometimes. I will do my best.

I am going to try to move up to week 3. At this point, I can't see myself running for 3 full minutes, but I am going to give it my all!

Yay for you! Week 3 is half way there, lady. You will be surprised at what you can do, 3 minutes is definitely achievable at this point.

So, I did my run on Tuesday. I actually made it for the 3 minute rotations. Dare I say, it was not horrible!!!!! I think if I had really pushed the issue, I could have even gone longer. I felt so proud of myself for doing it too. I didn't want to run that day but I figured if I make an excuse, that would only lead to more excuses.

So today, I go for W3D2. Wish me luck.

I knew you could do it! Doesn't it feel great? I'm glad that even though you felt you could go on further, that you followed the guidelines and did not. That is so important, I can't stress that enough!

Please update us on how your run today goes. I can't wait to hear about it.

Well, it's Saturday now. I did my run on Thursday and it was not quite as easy as Tuesday's run. My friend who is running with me swears it is because I ate carbs before I ran on Tuesday (pancake dinner at church =(). So for my next run, I am going to eat lots of veggies that day then see what happens. It's going to be tough because my appetite is pretty non-existent and it seems weird to "force" myself to eat and try to be a recovering binge eater at the same time. Such a quandry.

Can't run today, busy day with scrapbooking then a date with hubby. I'll run tomorrow.

Did my run on Sunday. My shins and knees gave me trouble. So I am realizing that I am not going to be a long distance runner. But I am ok with intervals and I am off my butt and moving right?

Supposed to run today, but the weather stinks. Maybe tomorrow.

Hi Kisland. Be careful with those shins -- mine gave me so much trouble at the one point, I had to take several days off to rest them. It isn't a fun pain, is it? You could still become a long distance runner, if you want to. I assume you stretched before your run? Were you running on a different type of surface than what you are used to? How are your sneakers? Did you run faster than usual, or did you do more hills? When I do hills, I still have to be careful, because my knees and shins feel it.

I'm so glad you're still in the "running" with this program!
