Keep up the great work! Doesn't it feel great to actually be doing this? Just a few weeks ago it seemed almost impossible ... now look at you two go!

Heya FG, just poppin in to say hi. I think i have a coworker on board to start the couch to 5k. We have recently started walking at lunch and today we were talking about running. I showed her the program when we got back and we are gonna give it a go next week.

Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

Good Evening! Today was the first day of week 2. I had meetings scheduled after work so would you believe that I got up at 5:00 this morning to go out and do it! It was hard to tell if I was getting the time quite right because we don't have street lights in our neighborhood and I had to wait until someone's porch light was on to see the stop watch. (note to self: get a flashlight).

I did really well and was feeling good until close to the end. My knees were a little sore but I felt good the rest of the day and my muscles are not screaming.

I am impressed with my tenacity. It's hard for an insomniac to give up a minute of sleep, but it was worth it.

Good evening. It's my off day and I am not sore at all from my run yesterday. Can't run tomorrow because it is hubby's shift and I can't take the kiddies with me. I plan to run on Friday, then again on sunday. My friend from work is going to run with me on Sunday. Maybe we can push it a little bit?!?

              Keep going everyone.

You're not sore, because your muscles are becoming conditioned -- which is terrific news. I love how you plan your running time around your schedule. A lot of people would use their fluctuating schedule as an excuse not to do it! You've looked past those obstacles and put yourself first. I am very proud of you!

                Keep running!

I have been pretty good. Life is good I sort of started running a bit back in 2005, but nothing impressive. Mostly just doing what i could. I participate in the Bolder Boulder every year, a 10k. I generally run about half of it. Not all at once...run half a mile walk half a mile, you know. But I would like to be able to run all of it, if not this year then next.

Well, Spirit, that certainly is an achievable goal. That is a great thing to work towards.

I have always, always wanted to be a runner but every time I have tried I just haven't lasted. I watch the marathon runners go by every year and I think that I'm a slug! I am totally in on this. I am excited and I am going to start tomorrow! It will also help me a lot in my six week exercise challenge!

Welcome aboard Apanthesilia - Trust me when I say that I have NEVER run before (unless it was away from something terrifying)LOL! This is really working for me. I would suggest finding some organized run that you would like to participate in and set that as your goal.

Can't run today - kid duty. I plan on running tomorrow. Hubby has a friend spending the night so they can get up early and go hunting. He will just have to entertain him all by his onesies until I get back. Note to self - Get some sort of flashlight to run with so you can see the darn stop watch!

                        Have a wonderful evening all

Yeah me! I just finished my official first run of week 2. For the most part I did fine. My butt was burning by the last run! My body is reminding me how out of shape I've become. But that's ok, I am looking forward to the day when I can run for miles with no problem. I feel good now.

Going to have some dinner and spend time with the family.

                          Have a great night.

I have been swimming lately, 1,000 yards each time (that sounds really impressive but I go really slow), but I want something to work my legs more. I am very large breasted and it hurts me to jump/run/jog/hop. I am considering getting one of these sports bras and joining this challenge. A girl who is large breasted that trains horses pointed me towards this bra...and it has great reviews from Oprah, etc. www.enell.com

This bra looks very promising! I have the same problem and I find that it hurts a lot to do exercise that involves any kind of bounce. I have tried so many sports bras and none have been up to the task! I usually wear two when I do anything remotely sporty. If you get one please let us know what it is like! Thanks!
