  • September Tae Bo / WATP/ Turbo Jam Challenge


    I need to get back to basics in an effort to get over the hump and lose this last bit of weight to meet my size goal. I have seen quite a few people who have Tae Bo, Walk Away the Pounds, and Turbo Jam DVD's (VHS TOO) but I'm wondering how many people are putting them to good use?? I'm ready to challenge myself for the month of September and I sure would love some company.

    How many times a week do you pledge to exercise and with which workout?

    Post your workouts daily in this thread and give a short review; someone might be interested in picking up your workout based on your review.

    If you skip a workout that you committed to, be honest so we can encourage you to get back on track.

    I am going to do a combination of all three to keep my workouts varied.

    I pledge a 4 day work out.

    Thanks for messaging me about joining this . I would love too! Looks like it may just be me and you . but better than doing it alone. I pledge to do hmm.. let me think ... 4 days a week at least. Alternating between Turbo Jam which I already love and Tae Bo which I have tons of but have done ever now and then. So when does this start Sep-1st?

      I'm so glad to see you here with me!!
      Yes, let's start September 1st.
      I plan to weigh and measure for my starting info on that day as well. I'll even take some pics because progress pics rule!
      Weekly weigh ins, measurments, and pics will follow. I seem to adhere better when I have weekly check-ins verses every other week so that's my plan. I'm really trying to lose the last little bit and sculpt myself like nobody's business.

        Maybe we can try to get some other people here too. I always see people talking about taebo/ watp and turbo jam so i am somewhat suprised that no one else has joined Oh well better just me and you then doing it alone! ... Weekly weigh ins sounds great. And I will put picture up as well yikes. I def. don't look as great as you .. but will one day eventually ... How long did it take you to get down to a size 7. Congrats by the way!!

          I was thinking the same thing when no one responded but, like you, I'm happy to have you instead of doing this by myself. I would have done this alone but it's more fun when you have a buddy.
          Don't sweat it hunni. I can remember when all I had was my "before" shots. Oh I used to cringe everytime I would log on but I just kept telling myelf that one day I was gonna look super hot again and I think I'm there now Post your pics and get ready to see the change! I love pics...back fat and all! I look at people and I honestly see past all of that. I think, wow...he/she is gonna look amazing when they get to thier goal.
          It took me exactly a year and what's funny is I was still wearing my 10's. I had a military ball to attend in April and the dress I wanted was a size 8. i wanted the dress so bad so I tried it on (secretely) thinking of all the ways I was gonna starve myself to get into the sucker. Low and behold it fit!! I promise you I cried in the store, and gave a praise report to the cashier as I paid for it

            Hey Girls!
            TaeBo is the bomb! The best figure I had in my life was the result of my boy Billy Blanks telling me to "reach for that inner power!" I asked my doctor if I could join you but he said.....not yet. (was in a car accident.) So I will look for these challenges in the future and you can bet I will have my daily date with Billy again in the near future. Love him!

              hey there!! I'm a HUGE advocate for following doctor's orders. We'll be here when you are cleared to work with Billy again. I wish you a speedy recovery.

                    **sorry I'm so late posting but I did start on time for this challenge**

                    Yikes!! Okay this is my in all my glory starting the 12 week challenge. 9-1-08


                    My stats:
                    Weight~158 pounds
                    Measurements~
                    arm~11 1/2
                    bust~ 34
                    waist~29 1/2
                    abs~35 1/2
                    hips~40 1/2
                    thigh~24
                    calf~15


                    ~Monday I had to walk in the Labor Day parade with my hubby and his union so I
                    considered the 5 miles we trekked as my exercise for the day.

                    ~Tuesday was Tae Bo *fat burn accelerator* with my amplifier bar and goodness that was an intense battle with Billy. I love Tae Bo but this workout was even more taxing with the bar. You WILL sweat like the dickens and he has you doing like 4 sets of 8 for each move.

                    ~Wednesday* oh yes...I got up with the chickens and Leslie Sansone and I walked away 1 mile* I feel awesome. I love tackling Leslie's 1 milers in the morning. She gets your heart pumping and you sweat a little but not too much. The music wasn't as cool as some of her other stuff.

                      Hey yall! i just found this thread. i do tae bo and i love it. its difficult but fun. plus i get my anger out when im pissed. is it too late for me to join?

                          I know I'm a bit late on this but I have quite a few Tae Bo DVDs laying around that I have not done in months (Since I completely fell off the band wagon back in June) Fortunetly I lost the 10 lbs I had gained during that time. But I love Billy Blanks. I just got the "Get Amp'd" DVD and it really kicks your butt. =) I always feel amazing afterwards. So I hope it's not too late to join and I will pledge at least 4 times a week with Mr Blanks.

                          When I had done Tae Bo before I really saw myself gaining a shape and losing the weight (he he he that rhymed ^_^). So I'm really looking forward to this!

                              Good luck with your goals. Billy does get the job done when you really commit to the work outs.
