  • December Strength, lifting, toning, flexibility

    It is December. The strength challenge has almost been around for a year. Thanks all of you who have been here and participated. I learn so much every month.

    So time to join again. Lets be strong for the holidays.
    You just need to decide on your December minutes. Work all you body parts (upper, core, lower) and have some fun with it. Anything strength or flexibility related is relevant - yoga, lifting, toning, pilates.

    And apros yoga. A new study is being published that suggests that yoga strengthens the heart. And it is fun

    OK liv I am not sure what I will be doing this month so I will be a bit more conservative but put me down for 900.

      Hi Liv,

      I messed up this month - partly because I keep changing my routine. I have a plan this month: Shredding. I figure this counts for 12 mins per dy for this challenge (counting the strength section and abs, but not the flex as it not too taxing). I'll also be stretching around 15 mins per day and in classes. So going to go for 500 - modest but hopefully doable in this crazy month. I've counted more rest days than normal for when I'm away.

          I'm still being somewhat conservative exercise-wise after my surgery last month so I'm trying 90 min/wk (three 30-min sessions).

              I did Shred workout one and a kickboxing class of 1 hr 45 mins. The flex from this = 15 mins, strength = 20 mins

                Cool gang.
                I am in transition from Jillian to heavy, slow and few. Still doing plenty of yoga. I did yoga yesterday and today I did a bit of lifting.

                  I am in. Combo of weights, Tai chi, and Yoga. (When I shake off the flu) I "lifted" myself out of bed several times today to eat a little and get over to the computer and the ADBB.

                      I did some yoga yesterday and today
                      Had a new teacher today. She was into flow. So it was getting tired and hot - rather than stretchy and holding for strength. But it was a nice change. I think she will be teaching some more after christmas. And I renewed my gym membership for another year so I am in.
                      I did a few other strength exercises as well.

                        That yoga sounds nice Liv

                        I did some strength mins at KB yesterday - about 15 mins and 15 mins stretching. Shred and 5 mins stretch today.
