  • February Stength Challenge

    Come and join for lifting flexibility and strength generally. Pledge minutes for the month of February and record your progress in this thread:

    My goal this month _ sort of

    Startdate: November 18, 2007. Female 5'2"

    May Challenges 2010
    Push-ups: 450/800
    Abs: 850/1900
    Squats: 650/1200
    Lunges: 500/1000
    Strength: 490/1200
    Running: 50/100 km


    2 Years on Atkins.................. President Challenge Medals earned

    Want to get my weight bench out again - or start using the Total Gym...so will start with 150 minutes.

            Actually I haven't decided on a goal yet, since I am going to California for several weeks soon, and not sure what I will be doing. Although AB exercises are not a difficult thing to do anywhere. I will miss my classes at the club though. Had another Zumba class this am at 9:30.

            Funny, we were in a different room than where the other classes usually are (they have 6 large wall fans). But on Saturday they use that room for the little Ballerina class because it has the ballerina bars on the mirrors.
            So we only had 1 fan in the our room!!! It was 10 degrees outside, (about -12 C ???) but we opened 3 outside doors to keep cool during the 60 minute Zumba class!!!
            That is me in the center below...

              Lol, love the before/after

              I am in for 250 mins weights, and 200 mins flex. This will be shredding, kb class and home pratice of body weight exercises and lots of stretching.

                I am going to up my goal to 495 mins this month. This means I've got to get to the gym 3 times a week with only one exception! Thanks so much you guys and gals for being a great fire underneath my butt!

                  Hi Liv, OK, I am going to count my Zumba classes here, but only 1/2 the time, since it is not all strength stuff. There is a lot of arm and leg muscle work, and stretching...How is that?
                  And I would have raised my goal more, but I will be out of town at the end of the month, and since I do not know what my routine will be, I don't want to pledge more at this time.

                      OK folks, since I'm so competitive with myself, and I keep looking at this challenge, I have to ask.... How many things are you doing, and are you counting your time for multiple challenges???

                      ie: I'm doing 250 minutes stability ball, 6 wk challenge 3x week, ABS, Squats, PushUps..... Is this time on TOP of all that??? Wow

                        I am counting the stuff for the other challenges in here as well. But then I do yoga and some lifting and stretching that has not other home so that goes here too. So I am doing both. It looks very impressive

                        I started with some Shred video and some lifting, squats and lunges on top of that

                          Total Body Conditioning Class
                          60 minutes, using a weighted ball/weights while stretching, lunges, squats, and more.

                          I Started the second class that follows afterward,(the easier class), but I felt a little ill in the tummy and dizzy from some of the bending at the ending/cooling stretches, plus I ate breakfast and ran straight to the class, I slept too late---so I left early.
                          Gonna lay down, sharp tummy pains and nausea.
