    i was planning on doing 3 x week but do you think 3 x 10 reps at 16 lb do you think that is too heavy? i could start at either 11lb or 14lb not really sure i might start at the lowest and just work up ,what do you think ? what is everyone else starting at ?

      Well.... this is a toughy for me to answer since I do not know your current fitness level or if you have lifted weights before. So... bare with me on my reply.

      If you have never lifted before, I honestly suggest you try out your first "session" with a 10 pound weight. More than likely you would be able to lift more, but at least you will be able to become familiar with the exercises. I would then move up to a 12-15-16 somewhere in that range for your next workout. It is never a bad idea to start out light because form is EVERYTHING in weight lifting. If you don't have the right form you will not get the results you want and worse, you can really hurt yourself and NOBODY wants that!

      If you have lifted before but not receintly I would say try it at the 16 pounds if that is what you have. If you can not complete the sets of reps with correct form then you should back the weight down until you can.

      I lift to failure, myself. I lift until the last reps are really a struggle for me to do and maintain my form. That way I know that I am truly pushing my muscles. You shouldn't be able to simply blow through this workout with out feeling taxed. If you can consistently complete your workout without really having to work.... then it is time to either up the weights or up the reps/sets.

      This is just my opinion, let me know if this helps or if I may have missed something.

          did it this morning for the first time using the 16lb and did ok lost form at 9 and 10 was a struggle ,this workout will fit in nicely with all i do already )

            This is my first Challenge and I have a question. Do we post on the days we do it.. Or should we post 3/3 (or however many days we complete) at the end of the week ?

              Summerfun...either way, you can post each day after you do you workout (as I do) OR...you can just post how many you did at the end of each week.

                I found this EXTREMELY challenging with the new higher weights, but I did get through it. Granted I had to rest in between reps and sets, but I got it done. I'm not sure my form was great on the last couple of reps either. I'm sure it will become a bit easier as time goes by.

                        Sweets, what weight are you using now? I rest regardless between sets sometimes.

                        Summer, If you're forgetful like I am you would post after you do your sets. Most of us post the day we do them.
