Re: Cool Running for the week of August 21,2005

      Good Morning all!

C25K week 3, day 2 for me today, total of 26 minutes. As a side note: I'm back down to 187 today, so that feels good. It took me about 2 weeks to lose the weight I put on while I was in Minnesota. Well, I wasn't really trying very hard until the past few days, so I probably could've taken it off a lot sooner. Anyway, I've only got 7 pounds to go until my mini-goal of 180. I started in May at 202.5. The loss is slow, but as they say, the goal isn't to lose it fast, it's to lose it ONCE!

Today is a 4.5 miles run EEEEK I am kinda stiff from my run yesterday so I will take it easy and run long and slower. It was nice to run fast though to prove to myself I can do it. That's what I was saying the whole time and I never once said I can't to I pushed through and DID it that makes me so proud.

        I'll check back later all

Did my second session of training for my 5K yesterday. I did 30 minutes and felt pretty good afterwards. My calfs were really sore afterwards but this morning they seem to be ok. I'm gonna take a break from running and swim laps instead. I haven't swam in a year so I hope that I can do this, plus I actually have to get into a bathing suit in front of people, yikes!

Diana, owie. Hope everything heals up nicely soon.

Great job today everyone. Sarah slow and steady, steady and slow that is the way we always go. Yoly awesome progress. Yeah, Effie on you lower weight, that is what all of this sweating is about after all.

My husband is on a deadline at work(remember he had to go in Sunday), so he had to leave at 5:30 this am = no run for me I hope he gets in early enough tonight, other wise I will just have to add miles tomorrow and Friday. The best laid plans.....

Ok my chant was no walking, but as I concured that my new chant while running my longies is (think the tune of if your happy and you know it)

I did my 4.5 miles it was really Tough TOM is killing me I am so waisted I could just sleep. I was really trying to talk myself out of running today but, the addict in me came out and I got my stuff on walked around the house for a bit then it was like ok quit putting it off and just do it, so I did. It was hard all the way time went by sooo slow I wanted to quit but, I didn't I kept going to my Goal of 4.5 and did it in 63 minutes I know not a speed record but, non the less I did it when I felt like crap and that in itself makes me proud.

Great job everyone. I did 30 min this morning, as hubbie again had to leave early, I didn't want to be dissapointed by the low mileage. I am shooting for 5-8 miles tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Rach, I know you will do it!!!

I'm debating ... yesterday was blistering hot .. today is yet another steamy one .. shall I run? I'm thinking 6 miles would be good .. especially since tomorrow is my rest day before the 13.1 on Saturday. Okay, I'll do it!

Yesterday's 8 was a bit much. But it sure reinforced my tan!

Well I opted to go over to the trail and run 5 miles. Turned out to be perfect timing because no sooner had I gotten back in the car and the sky cut loose and it was a blinding rain!! True to form for Florida weather!

I imagine with this tropical storm coming this weekend, there will be more rain in our future! Just hope I can get my 13.1 done on Saturday before it gets here!

Ok 6 miles in 58:19 not bad considering the temp dif between 5 am in Texas and 5 pm.

Betty my avg hr has been 156-57ish today it was 167 is rise in hr normal for higher temp?

                            Thanks AGAIN for the support.

Oh yes, you can bet your HR will be elevated during hot/humid weather. Plan on it. You're still well within normal limits, so keep it up!!

                              AWESOME!

Ok so after I got home from my run and showered I was still sweating, I developed a headache took some advil and went to bed. I felt really sick to my tummy I (gross here) vomited battery acid and went back to bed. Hubbie said no run today. Which is good because I still have a slight headache and nausea(sp?). I will try tomorrow morning as I only have 22 miles for this week
