Kim, BIU moves along at a much faster pace, that is what kills me. It's like TAKE A BREAK ALREADY WOMAN!

This may be my rest day, I have to see what my week is going to look like and then I'll decide. I think I could use it! Long weekend LOL.

Ah, I Burned It Up after all. I was up, it was quiet. What the heck.
I am noticing my biceps are much more noticable and don't hurt when they are squeezed anymore! LOL. Also, the Downward dog? This morning I saw that I don't have that sagging skin around the knees anymore!! Woohoo there is hope!!
Have a great day everybody, off to make breakfast for the troops!

Curiosity got to me and I tried BIU. It was a faster pace which I enjoyed along with more standing which I am better at. Since it requires more time and pain I am going to save it for weekends and continue with RIU. Besides, I'm toast after 59 minutes of Si6.

Hello all. I am taking a hiatus from this challenge. I don't know how long it will be for.

Good luck everybody. Keep up the great work!

RIU/SIL done for today. RIU really kicked my butt today. I think it all started because I realized that my plie stance wasn't wide enough, so I changed that to work the inner thighs more. That wore me out and the rest of the leg work was really hard, but it's done!

Barbde - I know what you're talking about - I stare at my legs during the abwork and think - hey, look, there's some new definition there! At least it distracts me from the abwork!

              Happy Sunday everyone,

I know you're joking here but I wanted to mention that I taught aerobics for 10 years (during my really thin days of course) and did aerobics for much longer than that. I taught all of the moves in SI6 so that's why it's a little easier for me....I have no problem keeping up with the moves. What I do have a problem with is the background music. There is no REAL beat to the music so unless I'm watching I become out of synch with the moves. That's the part that is missing from these workouts...a realy strong beat that is in synch with the moves. In my opinion that would make the workouts much more fun.

So I just wanted to mention this so that people didn't think that I'm wonderwoman or anything. I'm just used to these workouts.

Oh Barb, that made me laugh! That's awesome though, good for you!

I've been noticing much improvement in my hamstrings and gluts..it's great!

I'm heading off to do Shape It Up in about 20 minutes...this one is loooong (78 minutes), so it's weekends only.

I was teasing, Wanna. I've lurked here for awhile, so I know how hard you work out. I'm just impressed by how fast you jumped into the challenge.

Here's a question for the exercise experts (sorry its so long and complicated):

There is no question that I've added muscle during these workouts. I can see the definition in my legs and I'm starting to have a stomach again (in fact, my stomach muscles are actually bulging through my skin.

But, I have a body fat scale that hasn't budged from 26% during the entire time of the challenge. My weight has gone down about 1 pound during the same time. Measurements have basically stayed the same, or even gone up a bit in waist and thighs. I thought that my scale's percentages might not be accurate, so I used my measurements to calculate my body fat online using three different calculators:

                          www.healthstatus.com - 25.7%
                          www.womenfitness.net calculator - 25.04%
                          https://www.healthcentral.com/coolto...yfattest3.aspx - 24-25%

So it seems pretty likely that my bodyfat percentage is between 25-26%, and hasn't budged, even with all the working out, and a 1 lb weight loss. Is that possible? I always thought that 21% was a reasonable bodyfat percentage goal, but I don't seem to be getting there, no matter how hard I work out.

                            Hi Anna,

No expert here, just an opinion and a suggestion...if you're looking for an accurate body fat percentage, you might want to have a professional test, like water submersion.

The best scales with body fat percentage are still up to 2.5% off. The same goes for tapes measure tests. So, you could actually have more percentage difference, it's these scales and other simple tests that aren't precise.

Thanks Sheshy. I think I'm overthinking this. I should probably just focus on the fact that I KNOW I'm building muscle from the way I look. I did post a question in the women's forum about what everyone's body fat percentage goals are, though, because I'm not sure that mine (21%) is realistic.

Anna: 26% BF sounds great to me. I'm at 33%. I am shooting for 21%.

RIU complete for today which is a major feat because I was going to slug off working out today. And then I remembered that I was going to have to face up to you guys, so RIU for me. I was alternating on the *sscrampers one exercise per leg, but now I can do two differnent ones before I have to switch. Yes, it does burn.

Wanna and Barde: (and anyone else doing BIU) You are our wonderwomen. I will not be joining you for at least another week.

FGirl: I hope that everything is okay with you. If its the long, long workouts, maybe you could divide it into sections? Or just do the cardio? We don't want to see you go!!
