    YUP gptta build up the base do what ya need to do Kent and you'll come out a BIG winner.

    That plan is all right for me though I may try that. Still sitting here wondering if I should just giver and do the whole marathon I have 5 months to train so who knows. I gotta do early registration soon though so I get 20 bucks off LOL. So My heart is telling me to just do it my body is telling me I am nuts ROFL. Yup I am nuts but, I love it HE HE. Can't wait to get my new treadmill it's gunna rock Hopefully in Febuary.

      Sarah, I know what you mean about your heart is willing, but your body thinks you're nuts!! I could almost hear my knees groan when I signed up for the marathon!

        No doubt Betty HE HE. I really wanna do the full HMMM maybe I should check myself into the crazy lane LOL. I am sure I can do it. I think thta't what I will do I really wanna and it'll keep me pressing on I need the BIG GOAL LOL.

        I ran for 1 hour today nice slow paced run I was really going great now I feel bagged damn TOM I am sooo poopered from this one it's weird this month screwing around for a ful week then BOOM here I am I hate that. Up 5 pounds feeling very nauseated now glad I got the Run in before the big Whoosh YUCK.

        Good thing tomorrow is a rest day of sourts I think it's gunna be nastie.

          6.3 miles done tonight .. rest day tomorrow (except for my weights and exercise ball).

            You have no idea how awful it is to hear you all talk about running knowing I can't! Waah! My ankle is doing a lot better, but I'm making myself stay off it until the first. The swelling is 95% gone, and the pain is nearly gone as well, but I have a fear of getting out there and injuring it much worse.

            Keep trucking, ya'll, you're doing great. What a great way to start 2006.

              I did another 3miles or 5k tonight (it's approximate cause I pulled the magnetic safety thing accidentally half through as I was pulling off my shirt).

                Being today is my rest day -- tomorrow is my outdoor long run day. I bought a new pair of UnderArmour skin tights (something I swore I would never do) for an unbelievable price at Marshall's this week. I plotted my 10k course on Google Maps Pedometer site, and I hope it goes well. Wish me luck...

                    You'll do great KENT oh I wish I could go and run outside.+ It's -10 cold and Hubby isn't home so it's movie and treadmill time for my 18 I am attempting today GOOD LORD. I was trying to get up early to do it but, my Body just wasn't ready to get up so I'l be running into the afternoon but, that's all right.

                      Well it was just freezing outside (32 F), but I put on lots of layers. The run started well as I did the first 2 miles in only 16:45 (being mostly physically downhill), but the run went figuratively downhill after that. The next half mile of trail was 25% completely snow or ice, and the rest had two ruts where cars had drove mostly clear of ice. Dodging the ice and snow proved a bit weary and tempo challenging, so I decided to call it after the next half and turn around a half mile earlier thereby making the run an 8k (or 5 mile) run. I succeeded in jamming or tweaking my ankle on the ice before I got back the clearer trail again, but I kept going. The final 2 miles (mostly uphill this time) was done in a 18:45 minute split.

                      In the end, I did 5 miles in 49:30 minutes. Not as good as I would like it, but considering the circumstances I am somewhat pleased by it. I hate running next to the cars on the road, and there are no good sidewalk routes near me. Trails represent the best thing I can do even in the winter.

                        Thanks Kent taking my Asthma stuff as we speak LOL. You did great 5 miles in 49 is really great. It does get easier as your body adjusts they you just keep going and going.

                          Great job, Kent! Man, your description of the road conditions DOES NOT make me miss living in Omaha!!

                          I, on the other hand, peetered out after 14.1 miles on the trail today because it was 80 degrees! Where did this heat come from, anyway??? I was so enjoying the 50s and 60s of weeks past! Plus, it was HUMID out there which REALLY zapped me. I am disappointed in myself .. now I'm worried about next week's halfer ... I hope and pray this hot weather goes away and that nice refreshing BITE in the air returns by next Saturday!

                          Grrrrrrrrrr....heat.

                            WOOHOO I never Cease to amaze myself I did it 18 miles and Pretty damn good time too on the treadmill I know it would be 1000x harder outside but I finished the 18 in 3 hours and 21 minutes Pretty darnj good that's going about 5 MPH WOOHOO for me YAY.

                            SO I was very proud and my damn calves are soooo sore it's nuts but, I did it and I am sooo PROUD!!!

                              Awesome job Sarah! 18 miles and almost 3.5 hours is still 18 miles and 3.5 hours of running. Any which way you cut it inside or outside, it takes lot of motivation. Unless of course, you stood on either side of tread and watch the miles go by. I highly doubt that happened, so congrats!

                                Thanks Kent nope ran it all and my legs tell me I did OUCH my calves are very sore but, it's all good.

                                YA BABY, if I wasn't sore I would wonder if I did anything I kinda like the sore part lets me know that I am alive and I did what I set out to do.
