  • Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

2 days ago i had to turn on the ceiling fan and open the front door cause it was just to nice and i was flight climbing and ball balancing. today. heat is back on the snow fell overnight. sheesh.

i got a new supply of flax oil today. we used up the fish oil capsules AND i got some gludoamine/chondritin for jack. bio is going to tell us the scoop on that supplement and i'll be starting jack on them tonight when he takes his other pills.
we'll see if jack gets to feeling any better by the time the bottle is empty.

exercise has been good. still on track and determined to exercise each day of the 6 wec. so far so good. i put a dent in the remaining flights on kili today. i'm getting anxious to have it done so i guess the "second wind" has kicked in.

we all seem to be doing much much better. that december/january funk seems to get us every year. thank goodness it does not last.

I'm still doing really well! went to the gym today, usually fridays i make up some lame excuse..so that was 4 days for me this week. Though i didn't do weights, there were no treadmills available so i did 25 mins of rowing, which i thought was a good enough arm workout. Though i hear it's great whole body cardio exercise, i never think i'm working out hard enough on the rower. I then did 10 mins of stairclimber. there were treadmills avail but by them my legs had had it!

You're right Jimmie... we seem to have moved out of the "slow" jan/feb mode! You and Sadie are doing so well.

I was on track too until today when I had to get up at 4.45 in the morning to get where I was going...no exercise today! Hope to get back to it tomorrow, before an onslaught of weekend guests!

          good workout, sadie!
jack could have gotten me a rowing machine back before we moved but i just had no where to put the thing. we thought we were moving to smaller place so i told him to let it pass. i hated doing that but it would have ended up in storage for the longest time.

i'm good with my exercise too. trying to do a balancing act of losing a couple pounds and exercising every day along with watching what i am eating. for the life of me, i just can't lose the few pounds. but the pants still fit, as good as ever, so i'll only freak for abt. 1 1/2 minutes.

            girls girls girls

we sure don't get in here much do we? if goalies came by we'd miss them.

i am soooo on track. what a complete turn around from dec. and jan.
i met my goal on the mileage challenge today and i have 2 days to finish kilimanjaro. only 80 flights each day so that will be very doable. my stab. ball challenge is coming along and with a week left in march, there will be no problem finishing that. only 2 days remain in the 6 wec and i vowed to do something each day. i have kept to the vow so far. what else...... oh, my throat poke challenge. lol that's on track too. and vitamins! lets not forget those.

i've been busy! oh, i dropped a couple pounds. i'm within that magic 5 pound range now. i was hovering very nicely at 123 and i've been 126 for 2 days now. i've been drinking more water and really watching my portions.

okay, you guys can have the floor and tell all your doings.

Fantastic work Jimmie!!! Sounds like you're really going great guns... and even shedding the lbs!!!

Well... have to say that I too am not doing so bad! I shed my Christmas couple of pounds and am now at an ALL TIME LOW! Almost too low for my likeing (we're never happy, are we!?!) so I'll be a little less stringent and see where that takes me.

Getting an average of 50 flights a day in since my step arrived so Kilimanjaro maybe won't be as long as I thought. Exercise is on track too apart from a day of rest yesterday.

It feels good when things go well, right?

So I'm now 5 weeks back into my gym training! I drag myself there every day..but once i'm done i'm glad i've gone. I'm going to try to add a short morning run now that the weather is getting nicer. I think there is definately a benefit to getting your metabolism going in teh a.m...though not a morning person i've done it in the past. and the dog enjoys it too.

The scale is still not moving. but i feel a bit thinner..and that's what matters. Still not where i want to be..but i know better than to give up. it's only been a few weeks.

someone is learning from us. i kinda wish there had been a thread like this when we were struggling way back when. well, it's here now for everyones learning.

sadie, i planted the us flag next to your canadian flag on kilimanjaro! it won't be too long and boonie will plant another one and then sal will be on summit pretty soon and we'll have the uk glad there. kinda colorful on mt kilimanjaro these days!

i am sticking the 125. that's where my body seemed to want to settle in and i'm happy with that. i'd take 124 or 122 but i'll be happy with what i got.

guess what? jack signed up in the 6 wec!!!! he pledged 2 days which is 2 days more than he was doing. he thinks he's an exercise guru now. lolol

Hey Sadie... I so know what you mean about "dragging yourself there"! I feel totally the same every morning when it's cold and I have to walk the doggies! I think we all deserve some pats on the back for making "it" happen, don't you? I'm positive you'll be where you want to be very soon.

Jimmie... good to hear about Jack turning into an "exercise guru"!! Lol!

OK Goalies...I feel NOTHING like a goalie. I'm having to learn this planning meals thing all over again and I'm totally (well, not going to say failing...but I can't think of a more apt term!). I am only doing my Benji's, and maybe a walk or wrestling match with Nicky. I miss my organized exercise...but not enough to DO it.

Hope you are all well and keep trucking

Hey there Denise! Nice to see ya!
Sorry to hear you're having a few probs... happens to the best of us... but I think things definitely go in phases, don't you? Jimmie and I have both just been through a wonky time of it... which thankfully seems to have receded for both! I'm sure that if you just keep plodding on and doing the best you can, sooner or later things'll take a turn for the better.
Keep at it and you'll win. Let us know if there's anything more specific we can help with.
