    I unfortunately hurt my knee last week whilst running. I am 100% sure its down to my running shoes.

    Its on the mend, but not perfect. I did 2 miles yesterday morning with a knee support on as a experiment. It was ok, but i still need to get a new pair of shoes.

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Yup Get new runners and don't run in the old ones any more I would hate for you to be totally off rich you are doing sooo great take it from me Elle silly girl who didn't rest when she should have and ended up with severe shin splints and being off for 2 full week YUCK>

      Hey Jim that's a great time damn you and your long legs I ahve to have mine go at moch chicken to make that kinda time HE HE. OH well I guess that's what happens with genetics.

      I am so glad you are back I think you should make yourself a 2 on 1 off running schedual or something to give yourself adequit rest day 4 days in a raow is too much like ya said.

      I am not running today my shins are hurting a bit I ran yesterday then pushed the stroller down to the soccer place a 10 minute Jog but, when I got there my shins were very sore so I better take it easy a bit, I don't wanna get totally injured again.

      Just a thought Rich do you know what type of runners work well for you???? IF you do what you can do is go on Ebay and buy a few pairs for the price of 1. I do that casue I go through runners sooo fast. I have 4 pairs right now 1 pair is just about garbage the other 3 are getting nicely broke in Just a thought I don't like to Pay 140 bucks for a pair of runners on Ebay I can get 2 pairs of top oh the line Adidas that LOVE my feet for 100 bucks or less shipped to me then I am good for 600 miles. Just a thought.

        Thanks for your advice Sarah. I dont tend to do much more running in these shoes. I am waiting a tax rebate, and once that comes through I know exactly which trainers I will be buying.

        I may do the odd 2 miler in these old ones, as when I did it yesterday with my knee brace on I was ok. But I wont go on any longer runs.

        I have a 10 mile road race in 3 weeks. I just have to make sure I have my new shoes, and have broken them in before then. It should be ok.

          Well that's good Seriously Check Ebay, you will be surprised but, ya have to wait for shoes which kinda sucks. If you are on the ball you can get them weeks before you need them and start breaking them in before the old one wear out.

            Sarah,

            I want to tell you what an inspiration you are! Way to go!!!!!!!!

            I posted a few weeks ago and you were very helpful. I've been busy in bootcamp and just checked the exercise board saw your picture and was wowed by your time.

            I'm still plugging along running/doing exercise videos. I plan on starting "training" mid-July. I've got to get in good enough shape to bet there first!

              You are sooo Very welcome comming from where I was it's such a HUGE accompishment I feel so Impressed all the tiem by what OUR bodies will do it's amazing.

              OK I just Got done my Nastie Workout I am shaking all over OH YA BABY!!! My arms are Popping for the first time ever I saw veins in my arms when I was lifting NOW that is DAMN cool. They are soo PUMPED right now I LOVE IT!!!!

              This is what I did.

              Cable Curls Dropset 10x80lbs,10x70lbs,7x60lbs,7x50lbs ( no rest between sets)
              3 minute rest before next dropset
              Seated rows Dropset 12x100lbs (too light) 10x120lbs,8x110lbs,8x100lbs ( no rest between sets)
              3 minute rest to Next set
              Upright front cable curls close grip 8x70lbs,8x80lbs,8x80lbs,8x80lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
              Behind Neck Pull downs 8x60bs,8x60lbs,8x60lbs,7x60lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
              Hammer curls 7x25lbs (OHH heavy) 7x25lbs,7x25lbs,6x25lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
              Bent Over Rows 12x90lbs ( too light) 10x110lbs, 8x110lbs,10x110lbs ( 1 minute rest between sets)
              3 minute rest before Superset
              Upright Cable curls 25x50lbs ( oh man feel the burn I was dripping sweat by the end of this one)
              3 minute rest before Superset
              Seated Rows Superset 30x100lbs ( oh ya burning really nastie I am sooo fatigued)

              WOOOHOOO for me that ROCKED!!!

                    Thank you Sarah. Being 50 pounds lighter I am enjoying the runs these days. Still keeping all the miles below 70% max heart rate.

                    I am impressed with all of your weightlifting AND running. I get tired just thinking about trying to keep up with your routine.

                      LOL thanks Rich Sometimes I wonder if I do enough I sometimes think I should be doing a lot more then I am I guess in a way I am a freak I want it that bad. I kinda do Push myself Beyond my limits and People have to tell me SARAH slow down I am such a pusher. Thanks for noticing though HE HE I work really hard and Ya being 107 pounds lighter I can actually run outside without having an asthma attack now and my Medical issues are finally getting in control well for the Most part.

                        wow way to go everyone!!!! I wish I could run... I would love to do so once I loose more weight... how do you train for running? do you just walk really fast for a few weeks and than you start running or you just go straight to running at the first day?

                          Hey girl I can totally answer that I started running when I was 255 pounds yup that heavy. Be sure you ahve good shoes first off if you plan to run have running shoes not walking shoes. I basically started out walking then I really felt like I didn't wanna walk any more and started to run I was really stupid my first time and I swear almost died I thought oh ya I can run 20 minuttes well by the end of 7 I was just about dead and I could hardly walk it was a really stupid way to do it, so don't do what I did. I learned after much reading and Hitting the cool running thread that you should start out slow with say walking 4 minutes running 1 minute and do that for the amount of cardio time you are doing. As you feel up to it add a minute and shorten your walking breaks. You would be amazed how fast you get to running 10 minutes straight then you're off.

                          You can do anything you set your mind to don't be afraid if ya never try you will never know if you could or not and will wonder your whole life.

                            Yes I am afraid if I just satrt running I probably faint.. so I want to make sure I do it the right way!!!! Cool I will see how my shoes feel lOL and will try it tomorrow morning

                              OH go to www.coolrunning.com have a great Couch to 5km program on there good for strting. You will be so proud of how fast you improve if you are consistant and dedicated.
