:wave everyone and welcome to another week of cool running!

I plan to hit the streets today around noon ... for a 7.5 mile run with DD. I'll post later with the progress!!

Hope you all get out and enjoy the first full week of spring!! Then come back here and let us know what you did!!

I did my first 6 am run this moring!!! It was fantastic, I ran more than I walked, a personal best, and I feel fantastic!!!

Thanks for your encouragement in the other thread, Betty. I got myself a new pair of really good shoes, feel good about taking it slow, and actually I talked to a friend of mine who has run and gone in triathalons etc for years, and we discussed my next move. We decided that I would just add a bit more distance on come April (each month I advance..it just works for me, yanno?). I was going to go the whole 5k+ trail, but I think I'll just extend it at first and see how I feel.

I'm so concerned with injury, and thinking injury=me grinding to a total halt with the exercise, so slow is best for me. Celebrating the small victories. :joy

After years and years of dreaming about running, I'm actually doing it!
Next year I'll be ready for some of the marathons!! (ok..maybe a 10k...lol)

:dancingb: WTG Moochie!!! :dancingb: So proud of you, girlfriend!!

You are doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nod And you're doing it the RIGHT WAY, taking it slow ... don't be in ANY HURRY to increase mileage or distance .. give your body a chance to adapt to running ... it takes time, but slow and steady progress beats quick burnout anyday!! YES YES YES, celebrate every victory regardless of how small!! Hurray for you!! Don't you feel awesome??!! I know alot of days I feel sluggish or out of it .. but a good long run cures me!!!

I'm still a bit sore from Saturday's 10k ... but as soon as DD gets home from school, off we go!! I need my running fix today!!

Congrats again, girlie!! :hug Keep up the great work!

You guys are doing great! I think another two weeks of no running for me, but the good news is I can cycle and swim again. Still just upper body weights, too. I still have my June 11th goal for the mini triathlon, but not having run in almost a month, well, we'll see. I'll just live vicariously through you until that! From the saddle of my bike, of course!

Ran 2.5 miles today. The best part was that it was OUTSIDE! It's still a little cold, but it felt great to get out in the fresh air. This indoor track running, IMHO, is for the birds.

Hoping to get out there for 3 mi tomorrow. UGH, I guess I'll have to set the alarm a bit earlier :anger

Tomorrow may be my last chance. Looks like rain Wed-Sun. :sadblinky

Miss you, Betty. I haven't posted too much around here yet (besides this thread). So much going on, I kinda get lost in the shuffle.

You guys are running some serious distance! I'll have to buckle down and calculate how far I'm actually going. I'm too busy running to stop and read the distances sign.

I have a question as well. When you are running in the rain...do you just get wet? or do you wear rain gear?

Had a bit of a bug for the last few days, but managed 2 miles walk/run today. It felt a bit harder than usual but maybe tomorrow I'll be back to normal.

I have a very lightweight running/cycling jacket I use for when it's raining. It's light enough to let the heat out but keeps all the rain and wind out too.

I just get wet when it's raining.

Didn't make the 3 miles today, but did manage 2.5 indoors. Supposedly snow over night tonight, so I think I'll take tomorrow as a rest day.

2 mile run/walk this morning. More walk than run this time, but I'm squashing in as many runs as I can before we leave for Portugal on Friday and I never do so well if don't stick in a rest day between runs. Loads of packing going on here - even my elliptical is loaded on the van.

Packing for moving is exercise in itself, Ester! BTW, I'm really glad to see you still at it! We've come a long way from last year, haven't we? :joy

I figured that I'm doing just over a mile in my route. The sign is set up a little confusing, so I'm just going to jot down the numbers and calculate it myself.

I had a personal best in my morning run today!! I ran pretty much the whole route, with only two very short stretches of walking. I also extended it slightly, and did a longer cooldown walk. I totally love running this early in the day and I know this is going to work well for me.
