OK, doc said no cardio in the form of running till next Moday he said just to be safe, but, I can walk but, also have to stay indoors something about the cold air triggering an episode. GOD, I hate this I can't stand being housebound. LOL. I can also do weights which is good so I think I will do that today so that I feel better about myself cause I am dragging right now. I hope I haven't lost my modivation again but, I don't think so. I alkso hope I haven't got lazy LOL. Me lazy never.

Well have a good run today all and I will chat at you later.

WOOHOO!! Just finished 7.5 miles with DD ... :icondance Actually finished it WITHOUT RAIN .. can you believe that?? It rained hard this morning, but fortunately not during the run. HUMIDITY IS HIGH today which means I'm sweating bullets right now............got a full pot of iced tea waiting in the kitchen........... :capital

Burned 742 calories according to the HRM which means between Monday's 703 and today, I've burned 1,445 in two days of running!! COOL BEANS!

Have a great running day, everyone!! And even if you're not running, get that heart rate up for 30 minutes somehow!!

2 miles walk/run again this morning, and we've decided not to leave until Monday or Tuesday (too many other people on the roads over Easter weekend) so I'll be will you all for a few more days

Moochie - yes we *have* come a long way together! Slow but sure in my case, but one day I *will* do the whole 5k. Might take me a year or two...

I've noticed that I improve in jumps, suddenly being able to run twice as far as I could before, and then I stick at that new level for ages until I finally manage another jump. Is this just me or has anyone else experienced this?

Went 2.5 km (briskly walking) with dogs.
            Ran back.

Felt really great to be out in the fresh air, and the sun is out again, even if it is crisp (few flurries yesterday). Not too many sidewalks cleared, so we had to run down the side of the road, mostly.

            Reserves training tonight.
Still awaiting dates for Basic Training.

Packing my vitamins in little zipper bags - even though I'm not a boy scout, I'm getting prepared.

My, what wonders a bit of sun and exercise does for one's constitution - improves your entire outlook.

Just finished 7.5 miles for Friday, 3/25. Whew, the dog MONTHS are upon us .. it was hot and humid out there. My body just wasn't performing worth beans today.........but I prevailed, albeit slowly. Sweat off about 2 pounds!! :yikes

Tomorrow, DD and I plan yet another 10k run at 8:00 a.m. on the causeway. Should be cool at least, probably 100% humidity, but there will be the water closeby which will help. We did the same race last year, but only the 5k. So this should prove challenging..... :yes

So far this week, in 3 days of running, I've burned 2,308 calories!! WOOHOO!

Now .. drinking iced tea, trying to rehydrate!!! :capital

Happy Friday everyone and have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Wed. and Thurs. were off days.

Did 2.5 miles this morning and then another 1.5 this evening to make up for yesterday's unexpected rest day.

                      Sarah,

First of all, be SURE that you are back to feeling good before you start running sgain. DO NOT OVERDO IT.

Usually, a week off won't set you back too far. I would say drop your mileage back to at least 1/3 of what you were doing and build back up from there. If, when you are running, you are unable to carry on a conversation without gasping, you are going too fast and too far. Better to error on the side of caution for now. Your body will adapt quickly after a few shorter runs and before you know it, you will be back up to where you were .. EVEN FARTHER BEFORE LONG!!

I'm so glad you are doing better. I have been thinking about you and hoping you were recovering well.

Girl, you are so strong and diligent on this woe! You're such an inspiration to me!! My goodness, look how far you have come already!!
I am just so proud to know you!! Thank you for being YOU!!

PS -- READ YOUR PRIVATE MESSAGES!!

                      :hug :hug

Yesterday I did my third day in a row of 2 miles run/walk. I usually struggle if I do two days in a row, but the third day seemed easier. Perhaps my body is adapting. Today I have horrid TOM cramps so just managed a gentle 2 mile walk.

If I keep it really slow and gentle is it ok to run several days in a row or should I insist on 'rest days'? My bike is already over in Portugal and my elliptical is packed on the van so it's either run or walk...

GREAT JOB, ESTHER!! Yes, its okay to do walk/runs 2 days in a row ... when you increase your distance/mileage, you should incorporate rest days into your schedule, but for now, if you are taking it easy, there's no harm in doing it on consecutive days. GOOD FOR YOU!

Well, I ran a 10k run this morning with DD and guess what .. I got me a trophy for finishing 3rd in the 45-49 age group!! Now, let me describe the weather conditions for the run. Anybody ever been to Tampa in the summer time? CAN YOU SAY OPPRESSIVE HUMIDITY? It was 100% when we started at 8:00 a.m. in the FOG on the causeway. I knew right away that this race was gonna be a tough one ... I swear you could have cut the humidity with a KNIFE .. :yikes Something about that humidity that ZAPS your strength and momentum, but we made it and actually got a trophy! DD got 2nd place in the 20-24 age group and was so excited!

We are both so psyched to continue to train for the Disney Half Marathon next January. That's my goal to do it when I am 50 years old!! So, the training runs will continue through the DOG MONTHS of summer ... wish me luck surviving that!!

Anyway, I am soooooooooooooooooooooo excited about getting me a trophy!! :joy

Congrats Betty! To both you and DD! DD hasn't been running that long, right?

I did 3 miles this morning. I was very happy to be able to run outside for a change. Maybe spring is really here!!!

Hey, can I break in and report my run here? :wave' I got out this morning and ran for 50 minutes, or 5 miles. It felt so good and the weather was a perfect 38, no wind too. The weather was really cold and very windy here in DE during Feb and March so I got out very little. My exercise was nordic trak and swimming but I find I get a better work-out by running.
