46 degrees, 78% humidity which I felt, 9mph wind --- 5.14 miles in 61 minutes. Gotta get going, lots of cooking and cleaning to do today.

Sarah --- Interesting that you mentioned the Vitamin B connection. I started taking a Complex B vitamin a week or so ago and my running feels so much easier and without the sore muscles afterwards.

Cool Max --- thanks Betty I'll have to look for them.

On the subject of running Bra's...I've got an entire drawer full (and spent a fortune!), and only have 2 i'm really happy with. One is an Isotoner, I don't think theyeven make bras anymore, I bought it years ago for an aerobics class for $8 in a clearance bin and i love it. the other is a Bestform that i got at Walmart for $16. My 2 $50 Champions that i got at running room are crap..the straps done even ajust..and my2 wonderbra ones aren't to bad..but they aren't great either, and i only use them if the others are in the wash.

I highly recommend the Bestform, they come in all different styles and are cheap. Walmart and Zellers (canada) both carry all kinds of styles of them.

One thing I've learned from experience is to TRY THEM ON and Test them. Go to the change room, put it on and jog on the spot. I've tried on bras only to have come home and run in them and hate them! the two i love are the two that i ran in in the change room.

I'm only a B cup but i can't stand all the boucing around. I just keep thinking it's gonna make me sag eventually LOL.

Sorry to ramble..but this is a subject i get worked up about because of all the $$ i've spent....

And btw I will be joining you ladies Monday, I have been doing my running but haven't been consistent enough!

Now that the nice weathers arrived I'm making a committment to myself to get back up to my 5k 3/4x a week. Right now i'm only doing about 3k once or twice..been lazy :-(

I'm a C or D cup, depending on the fit of the bra, and my girls have definitely deflated...but there's enough there to fill a bra, I just have to do creative packing when I put it on..lol...ah...sigh...I'm really short and I don't want to be one of those middle aged women with her boobs at her waist so I'm particular about my bras, especially a sports bra.
I don't need to stretch these things down any more than they have to be.

I'll be doing my run this afternoon after work. It's clear and sunny out so this'll be my first time running in the heat....not that it's exactly hot out, but it'll be the warmest run for me so far.

I have a question about running in the evening. Anybody know if that's not a great idea to run and then a few hours later go to bed? I was just thinking that a run in the summer during the cool of the evening might work for me.
          Any thoughts on this, folks?

            Hey moochie,
I do all my walks in the evening. I am not aware of anything wrong with it. I usually do them beofre I eat though. I prolly wouldn't recommend doing them after you eat. The only other thing I can think of about them that might be a problem is if you do them too late you might have a hard time settling down to sleep but if you were to do your run a few hours before bed I don't have any problems there.

Cool Max and Dri Fit fabrics are great!

I went for a walk after dinner at a beautiful park. We're talking 270 acres! Absolutely gorgeous.

I have no idea how far I went but I walked at a moderate speed for an hour. :sadblinky Not good, but better than nothing. I estimate that it was only around 2 miles. I just wasn't feeling it today.

                Another question!
                (always with the questions!!)

Do you all generally run every other day, or do you run five days in a row, then weekends off? Just curious as to what others are doing.

I was up at 6 this morning so I decided to pop out for a run. I just love the cool of the morning as opposed to the heat of the afternoon and that's why I was contemplating evening runs. I'll just play it day by day, I suppose.

I get out when I have time. Some weeks it's everyday some weeks it's every other day.

Yesterday I walked 5 miles. I was pushing a stroller so that threw me off a bit but I did a few bursts into running. I do not know how to be able to run when I cannot keep my heart rate down no matter how slowly I will run so for now I will just use it as high intensity.

Moochie - I usually run about 4 or 5 days a week, mostly every other day but occasionally 2 days in a row. Very occasionally 3 days in a row. My performance is definately worse if I try to run 2 days in a row, but I don't honestly think it does any harm so long as you have built up gradually and got your bones and tendons and stuff strong and keep the pace very gentle. I have noticed that if I stick it out and do 3 days in a row, the third day is often better than the second, like my body is adapting to daily running. But if I want to go for 'improved performance', I need a rest day before attempting it.

Of course, I'm no expert. I've been running 8 months and still haven't completed the couch-to-5k!
