I want in the CC Summer challenge. I have been off track and I think this is the perfect thing to get me through the summer.

I Yoly, promise to clean up my induction, get healthier, avoid carb creep, increase my water, renew my exercise efforts, and maintain a low carb summer!

The thing I dread most this summer:
Carb creep, I have been a victim to this before. Also we are going out of town for 4th of July and I will not be able to control what food gets cooked.

What I can do to get through it:
Well the as far as the carb creep I will write down everything I eat, and the carb content. As far as my trip, I will make good positive choices. I will figure out a way to eat the things that I can and avoid the things that I can't eat. No matter what!

Hi Yoly :wave Welcome to the CC summer challenge.
I saw a little pocket net carb counter at the grocery store the other day for 99 cents . And it even had popular restaraunts menu's carb counts. You should get one and stick it in your pocket...
Carb creep is my terrible down fall. I went on OWL, and went a little crazy. Before I knew it, I was out of control. I can really understand your fears.
We just need to focus. .... And a strict induction is just what we need....

And we now have 7 Yipeeee :joy :icondance ... the list is growing folks..
We are gonna have such a good time this summer...

I would also like to join. I am looking forward to this.

I, Satin_teardrops, promise to clean up my induction, get healthier, avoid carb creep, increase my water, renew my exercise efforts, and maintain a low carb summer!

The thing I dread most this summer:
Family gatherings and church suppers kill me. I am doing KISS, because of a yeast build up, it is harder than normal.

What I can do to get through it:
I will just have to take more food than I normally do. DH and I already decided that instead of one dish we will make 2 or 3 so I can eat....LOL

Hi Lily :wave Glad you joined us!! Taking extra food is a great idea. The more you have to choose from, the less likely to be tempted. But you might want to take lots of extra, because most people will really like what you bring. And they might eat it all up!! lolol

It's so true.. everytime I make something that is Induction safe, everyone seems to like it best. Last year I made 30 deviled eggs, and you guessed it. By the time I got to the table, they were all gone. :yikes

We are now 8 strong!! Yeeehawww!!! :icondance

Count me in!!! I got up this morning and decided "Breaks OVER!!" Time to buckle down after two months of farting around. I stepped on the scale, took my measurements, poured a glass of water, and signed on t ha My siggy is up todate. No inches gained and 4 lbs gone over the last two months. Now it is time to loose some weight before school starts next fall.

            Lets go TEAM!!

Woohoo for losing 4 pounds girly!! Thats awesome...here's to another 4 and beyond!!

I'm so proud of everyone for jumping in. We have a lot of obstacles to get through, throughout the year. But with the exception of Thanksgiving,
I think summer is the hardest.

We can do this!! Let's share our recipe's and our strategies. Let's encourage each other to reach our goals. If we work hard, exercise, drink our water, take our supplements, and keep our DANDR near and dear to our hearts, we will survive!! And we can do it together, in style...ADBB style!!

We now stand proud with 9 Members!! :yikes Yahoooooooooo

Hello guys, I have a party to go to tonite, my dad is turning 60. We went pretty formal and are having it catered. I think there are a few things that I can eat so the food isn't the problem. I was worried about desert but I just finished making an awesome cheesecake recipe.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

                    I'm in!!!

I Tina (aka Snap) pledge to do a strict induction this summer. I further pledge to drink my water, (yuk....I hate water) and to exercise regularly.

I'm not really worried about anything this summer. My company has a summer picnic. But....there is plenty of yummy stuff I can eat there.... briskit ( however ya spell that) and sausage and chicken. I just don't dump the bbq sauce all over it. Just give me a plate of meat and I am happy!

I do have a question maybe someone has an answer to. When I am exercising I have a tendency to get an annoying cramp in my right calf. Eating bananas is good for alleviating those. Anyone know of something other than bananas that helps with this?

Calcium/Magnesium/Potassium supplements. You can buy this combination at a health food store. The 3 work best if taken together. Country Life brand is the one I use.

Yup, Aphex is right. Potassium will alleviate most legs cramps, and water, water, water.

Congrats on your attitude lady!! Summer is looking better and better...

I would like to join this challenge as well! I need a good kick in the butt, I've been really having a hard time with PMS these past 4 days. Seems my periods are becoming a lot worse..but I've been reading that it is a good sign that I'm losing weight because my body is releasing estrogen into the blood stream? sorry to talk about this on this board... ensive :yikes

Ok...first test of my newfound resolve happened tonight. A new drive in movie place opened up about 45 minutes from where I live. Haven't been to a drive in movie since I was a kid. So... tonight me and my roommate went drove out there. ( I should have prefaced this story with the fact that I love ooey gooey buttery popcorn more than just about anything...) I hadn't eaten dinner so we drove through jack in the box and got a salad. At the movie my friend says.... "you want twizzlers or popcorn? And I replied..."neither. I'm not eating that junk tonight." So. I happily munched on my salad while watching quite possibly one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen. Guess the really cool thing is the popcorn wasn't even tempting to me.

Did not make it to the gym today, but will be going tomorrow. Decided to give my poor sore muscles a break.

Thanks for the advice concerning the leg cramps.I'll have to look for that stuff Monday and give it a try. Kinda weird that it always happens just in my right leg and never in the left one.

Off I go to bed. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Hi there! :wave Welcome to the 'Clean it up' CC Summer Challenge!

                              Do you take calcium supplements?

                              Calcium
Adding 1,200 to 1,500 mg calcium daily has been shown in several clinical trials to significantly improve PMS. When progesterone receptors are blocked by low blood sugar levels or adrenaline, not enough progesterone can get to the cells, which means that important bone-building cells called osteoblasts are not being produced. This may explain why calcium supplements help.
