Tammy the fitness test is a mini one. Took just over 3 minutes.
The trainer, Lisa, set up those steps (used for step aerobics) with 2 squares on each side under the rectangle step (seemed HUGELY high 10 weeks ago) and then she handed me an electronic metronome that gave me a pace to step to (you stepped to the beat) and you do that for 3 minutes. After the 3 minutes, I sat down immediately and then Lisa took my pulse. My face was so red and I was sweating and breathing so hard the first time. After 10 weeks, I was breathing faster than normal (but not panting) and no red face.
I notice all the time now how much better I breathe when exercising due to adding the 2 miles running. Now I don't run 2 miles straight, more like run 1/4 and then walk a bit, then run 1/8 and walk a bit and run 1/4 (or if I'm doing well, run a whole 1/2). I'm hoping to be able by the end of the summer to run (ok, slowly jog) the entire 2 miles with no break.
