Tammy the fitness test is a mini one. Took just over 3 minutes.

The trainer, Lisa, set up those steps (used for step aerobics) with 2 squares on each side under the rectangle step (seemed HUGELY high 10 weeks ago) and then she handed me an electronic metronome that gave me a pace to step to (you stepped to the beat) and you do that for 3 minutes. After the 3 minutes, I sat down immediately and then Lisa took my pulse. My face was so red and I was sweating and breathing so hard the first time. After 10 weeks, I was breathing faster than normal (but not panting) and no red face.

I notice all the time now how much better I breathe when exercising due to adding the 2 miles running. Now I don't run 2 miles straight, more like run 1/4 and then walk a bit, then run 1/8 and walk a bit and run 1/4 (or if I'm doing well, run a whole 1/2). I'm hoping to be able by the end of the summer to run (ok, slowly jog) the entire 2 miles with no break.

That is the first thing I noticed when I began exercising. I can breathe better now!! The more we get moving, the better our bodies respond!

Have any of you ever been to Curves? My daughter and I were thinking about joining. They have a two-for-one going on right now.

        HEY EVERYONE! COUNT ME IN!

I, Stephanie (sneal717), plan to stay on this clean induction that I'm on, to continue to workout at least 5 days a week, drink all of my water and then some, and post regularly on this board.

Don't really have anything I'm dreading this summer other than the heat (Dallas summers are the worst!). Makes you wanna just stay indoors as much as possible.

Short Term Goal: To take it one day at a time and make the very best choices EVERYDAY! My goal is to be at 200 by August 17th. (Would like to be about 195 by then if possible. My incentive: I'm meeting someone that I've met online. I know he would like me just the same at the weight I am now... but I don't feel pretty or sexy and I don't want my insecurities to hinder the growth in our relationship if we decide to take it to that level. It's easy to be confident when most of your communication is on the phone or the computer..lol. I swear I think he might be THE ONE so I want to give this a 110% so I can give him 110%.

Long Term Goal: To stick with it and to learn to cook a variety of dishes to keep me from getting bored. My weight goal is 150. I want my daughter to see that she can do anything she wants to do if she just puts her mind to it...using me as the example.

I appreciate and pray for all of you. It's not easy to get on here and tell all your business, but I know that noone on here is judging me and it really does help to have you all as a support group! THANK YOU!

Thanks Tammy! Happy to be here! I quit posting on the board for a couple of months cause I had 9 million things to do and I just wanted to tell you that YOU LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!!! What a transformation! I missed a lot those months I was gone. I need to get a new pic on here soon too.. not because I've lost a ton of weight but because my hair is completely different..lol.

Today my goal is to get in 120oz of water.. somehow.. someway! I don't really like it so I have to force myself to do it.. but I've read too many times on this board how important water is and how successful people have been when they drank more than their fair share of H2O. Wish me luck!

Yup! Water, water, water! I'm drinking about 150 oz's and up. Some days way less and some days more. I have to get extra motivation some days to make myself drink it. But the difference is like day and night.
My skin and hair feel better when I get my water too. If I had to name my problem area, I would definitely say drinking my water...What about everyone else???

              Hugs, Tammy

P.S. I have out of town company, due in today, and will be off board for a bit. Be good everyone and I'll check in later on today and see how we are all doing!

              Drink up!!!

Just wanted to check in and see how everyones doing. All is well here with me. I did go to Six Flags a couple of days ago for my sons 5th bday - it was alot of fun. It's amazing that I was able to walk up all those hills and thru the park several times. Thank goodness for Atkins!!! A year ago I wouldn't have been able to do it!

Also my hubby took me over the weekend to a place called Victoryland in Shorter Alabama. They have greyhound racing and slot machines. We had a great time - I've never been to anything like that. The slot machines are so addictive - almost like chocolate! It's a good thing I live in Georgia - there is no slot machines round here!

Plotting my meals for tomorrow. We're off to Water Country in Portsmouth NH for the entire day and I KNOW there is nothing there to eat for me that is "on plan" except for water! LOL!!!

Packing a cooler with tuna salad and lettuce and salad dressing, some celery with cream cheese, bottles of water (since I'm not sure I can refill at any water fountain, they don't have them, you have to buy all food items or bring your own). We'll eat breakfast before leaving but might have to stop on the way home to eat again (or I'll just have more of the same from what I have in the car).

I'll be on my feet and in a swimsuit all day (oh, must go pack the sunblock) and in public no less! LOL!!

                    Wish me luck!

Hi guys! :wave Sounds like everyone is having Summer fun, without the summer carbs!! Wooohooooo....

Our company arrived from Va. Tuesday morning and we are having a wonderful visit. My DH was frantic to get the pool ready by the time they got here. YAY!! He finally got moving and got a lot done around here!!!!

We went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner and I had the petite sirloin with broccoli, (hold the potato and toast). It was delish!!

My SIL is on a low fat, lighter carb, plan (Can't remember the name of it). She eats fruit, and a lot of it. She brought her own with her, and my kitchen smells like an orchard...lol She keeps offering me grapes and bananas and has my fridge loaded with low fat yogurt, and some special kind of protein bars she gets from her diet center... :yikes

Anyway, she isn't hounding me, just offering and scoffs a bit when I say 'No thanks".
                      Wish me luck....

Glad you had fun Pam...and good luck Kat...you are braver than I my friend! I won't get in our pool if anyone is here...lolol

                      I'll check in tomorrow...

                      Hugs, Tammy

I'm happy to report that we survived the day at the water park with only a bit of sunburn and 1 flat tire (it blew on the way home just 1 exit after getting on the highway so the hour drive home took 90 min. instead).

I appeared in public in a bathing suit and no one was blinded by the ghostly white skin or the remaining flab. LOL!!

The water was icy cold (that oughta account for many calories) and the sun was hot. We all had a bit of dehydration going on when we finally got home, even with the water we packed.

Everyone slept late (except me) today. I know I must mow the lawn, but it's just so blinking hot out there. Warmer still tomorrow (100). So I think I'll attempt to do just the front after supper tonight once the sun has started down. Might skip the back until Sunday or Monday when it might be at least 10 degrees cooler! <grin>

The last 4 days I have gone back to my KISS(antiyeast) diet. I have been having the pounds creep back, and yeast symptoms return :raving . So I am now getting those pounds back off and I realize this is the only way I can get the weight off.

Just wanted to check in and say my summer challenge isworking for me. I am seeing results and that is a a good thang.!!!

I hope everyone is seeing the weight come on down!!!
