    Wow we are exactly on the same wavelength! I always wonder if I am starting to sabotage myself, because you know, as much as I intellectually want to lose weight I know there is a part of my personality that wants to stay big and invisible! The more attention I get from people, the more I notice self-sabotage beginning, weird I know.

    Yes, I know how you feel! Being invisible is being safe. But I don't want to be safe anymore!!!!

    I don't dare believe it but I stepped on the scale at home yesterday and I think I lost two pounds. I've only had coffee so far this morning so I'll go up and try it again. If it still has a lower reading then I will go into the doc's office and test their scale! Can't do that till Thursday though as that's my next day off and I have to be at work before they open in the morning. As soon as I know it's true I'll be belting out a huge WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

      Mary, I'll bet big money it was just the style that you hated with that dress. And your mood at the time. You're going to look gorgeous and we all know it even if you don't!!! If you don't find a style you feel flatters you try a dressmaker. Go with pics of some styles you like even if it's the neckline of one and the sleeve of another etc etc. They'll know what flatters your body type and can help you get exactly what you want.

        Thank you, Teri, I needed to hear something like that!!! I hope you are right I am going to wait until February before I try that again though!! Must build up my self confidence! And Congratulations on the weight loss!!!

        I have gained weight this week, dont' really now why, I thought I was doing okay, and was jogging on the beach while I was gone, and joined curves and worked out there too!! (It was fun btw!). Just the perils of eating outside of our own house, I guess, you never know what's actually in the food you are eating! I am back to routine this week, I WILL do better!!!!!! I couldn't have gained 4 pounds in a few days, it must be water weight.... I HOPE!!! Ugh though!!!

        Anyway thanks for the encouragement again, Yankee! I hope everyone is doing better then I have this week!!!

          How is everyone doing? How do you feel about reaching your goal by the end of the year, optimistic or pessimistic? What is one thing you could be doing to make this WOL more successful at the moment?

            Oh, man I have been posting I swear I got so many places to post I get lost LOL. I guess hey. I am feeling optimistic I don't think I'll make the 175 by Christmas but, hey I bet I'll be about 15 pounds away which is pretty darn awesome. My weight loss has slowwed drastically but, that's all right. The slower the better at the end. I wanna keep this off for good so if it's slow and I am learning so much more by having to be patient with it all. I have reached all of my goals they are all off the mark but, I still have reached them and so I am happy with that.

            I ahve been running like a wild woman an exercise finatic of sourts I think it's a great think I am training for a marathon for next year in May WOOOHOOO. I cna't wait it'll be great when I can say I did this it'll be hard but, well worth it I am sure.

            Well I better run take care everyone and have a wonderful day

              Oh hey, didnt mean to sound like I was accusing anyone, just an observation for myself to kick myself in the rear! You're doing totally awesome, you're gonna rock that marathon!! You have a great attitude towards weight loss too! I'm definitely trying to lose as quickly as possible for my wedding and because I tend to be an all or nothing kind of person, and I need to keep the momentum going in order to succeed!

              You're definitely an inspiration of mine, sarah, whenever I take walks I've been trying to add a little running here and there to build up some endurance. I can do about 3 and a half minutes before needing to rest. When I started I could barely do 30 seconds! I don't think that's something I would be doing though if it wasn't for you!

                YAY Mary Oh, I wasn't maening to sound HARSH LOL!! I think that's excellent up to 3.5 minutes that's excellent it will only get better I am soo glad you are taking it slow so many jump in and try to run for 30 minutes whatever it's ahrd the way you are doing it is key to your success I am so glad I could inspire you to run that ROCKS and makes me feel so great.

                You're gunna look FAB for your wedding you keep going like you ahve been WOW you're gunna knock their socks off.

                  Was 204.3 this morning. Improving, but still a little behind my monthly goal. Been working out at Curves everyday - I think I'm getting some really good results out of it.

                    You've got that right! I was actually back on track sort of and was happy to find I'd lost three pounds. Then we went to visit family for a weekend. Non-supportive family. There was no way to eat a lo-carb menu there and sparks flew when I said "sorry, not hungry". Three days of off-plan eating - I didn't eat too much either - and I've gained FIVE POUNDS!!!!! Ugh! Needless to say I am back on track with a vengeance. Can't wait to get rid of this gained back weight plus some extra. Ds's girlfriend visited too and when she got home she told her mom I looked awesome. That's helping tremendously!

                      I am trying to make a promise to myself that I will post here every day until we leave for vacation in December. It will help me stay on track and strengthen my resolve like nothing else! You all are doing so well. Sarah, you inspire me to be honest with myself and while I wish I could exercise the way you do I know my time will come and that, in some things, I have to be patient.

                        I've choked down breakfast - a burger cooked on the george forman grill. Eggs don't sit well and it seems that burgers and eggs are the easiest carb free foods for me. I'd have skipped it altogether but it's a long day at work and lunch is usually just a handful of almonds and a bottle of water. I also took my vitamins and have posted not once but three times this morning so I'm off to a good start here!

                        I hope you all have a wonderful, carb-free day!

                          Glad to see you back, Yankee!! I thought this thread had died, lol. I'm sorry your unsupportive family made it hard for you!!! That's too bad they can't help you become a healthier and happier person!!!! I know how hard it is to be out of your routine and still lose weight.. I'm visiting my family (in michigan) this week, and while they are very supportive.. something about being around them makes me want to EAT a LOT lol! I'll have to post here a lot while I'm there.

                          I KNOW you will lose those 5 pounds and more!! Luckily, if we gain it quickly it tends to come off quickly if we act fast, you know? You're doing great!! There will always be those annoying setbacks, but you know you want this to work, so it will!!

                          Speaking of family.. I just had to share, look what my future mother in law made for me and my df for halloween last night.. jack o burgers!! I thought they were too cute..

                            Sorry this thread doesn't seem to want to pop up I am subsribed and it only does when it feels like it lol.

                            I am down 5 pounds this month to 193 WOOOHOO. I have 18 pounds to go to goal well my first goal. I don't think I'll get there by Christmas but, damn I sure am gunna try.

                              I'm still here as well. I'm at 225 now and my goal for Christmas is 210. That's 15 more pounds. I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it but it was an ambitious goal in the beginning - about a 40 lb loss. I've been off exercise and plan for about 2-3 weeks due to some medical issues but those are resolved now and I'm back full speed ahead. I'll re-weigh and measure Saturday and see where I am. My long term goal is 140 lbs. by October, 2006. I am 55 now and I'm just wondering if I've set myself up to fail with such an ambitious goal to reach. This was my weight when I was 18 years old. Perhaps I should increase it some to where I was in my 20's. What do ya'll think? I don't want to be too hard on myself.

                                The only way you could be too hard on yourself is to beat yourself up if you don't meet your goal. Or to give up and forget it altogether. Perseverance will win you the prize. I'll see if I can't do the 15 right along with you. I may not make it but I'll sure be trying.....
