Hum...I'd love to do another challenge. I'd thought of a cheat-free challenge too, but am open to suggestions. I agree it could get dull after awhile.

I had also thought of maybe a CC Biggest Loser Challenge. Another season starts on January 1st of the Biggest Loser show. We could have our own competition here... a friendly one of course. What do you guys think? or we could do a "Get off Your Butt in 2008" challenge and pledge minutes of exercise.

The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!

P.S. CONGRATS CHICKLADY on meeting your goal!! 23 pounds is GREAT!

That means 3 out of our 16 original participants have met their goal. We still have 4 days left to report in. There are several more people who are really close.

Maybe this is too elaborate, but how about a challenge, 10 weeks long, where each week we do something new? We start with a weigh and measure-in before the start and finish with the same (pics too?) and each of the weeks in the middle, we do something creative.

What say you all....interesting or too complicated....????

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

well, say week 1 we each present a low carb recipe of an unusual vegetable. week 2, we each attempt an activity that we used to do in our slimmer days (that may be our youth!!) that we haven't tried or been able to do in ages. week 3, we each present a low carb version of an international meal (found or created) week 4, we do a walk challege and see if we can increase the amount of time spent on our feet, whether it's a walk in a park or mall, or walking to work, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator....
week 5 would be mid-challenge weigh & measure-in week 6 lets try a "convert a recipe" challenge----something we'd love to eat if only it was low carb. week 7, a KISS challenge----keep it simple---no frankenfoods or phony stuff this week week 8 a pushup challenge----either standard, stability or wall pushups done at least 4 times during the week & reported. week 9 a "what changes can I make" week---what have you learned about yourself and what changes can you implement that would benefit your Atkins lifestyle and finally, week 10, final weigh and measure in and pics again if we decide to do pics.
We could of course, make it longer or shorter, depending on peoples desire, but this is just a few ideas for it.....

Hey Chick, those are some great ideas. I'm not much for cooking so creating/cooking/converting recipes aren't really for me. It sounds like a great challenge though if you want to head it up. This may even be one you'd want to put on the main challenge forum where there are more people to pull from. I especially like the walk and push-up challenge weeks.

I can't do the walking (have tried so many times) due to the Morton's Neuroma (but may be after the steroid injection in my foot - can you hear the excitement in my voice over this?). Push-ups, we'll see. I do plan to begin exercising in January but have to start slow due to the arthropathy in my back. I'm going to be riding the exercise bike and doing some Pilates with a band.

Cat, have you tried wall pushups. They're about the only pushups I can do as I have a bad lower back.

Sorry guys, still at 273. I don't know what my problem is right now. I am thinking that it is because I was on antibiotics, predinisone, and had an extremely bad yeast infection. All going away now and am off the meds. I am feeling better and just waiting for the pounds to fall some more. I actually gained a couple of pounds while I was on the meds. Now I have lost them and hope more can follow.

This is the second time trying Atkins and hopefully this time it will be a permanent life change for me.

Just my opinion, but I think predinisone is sure fire recipe to pack on pounds. The fact you only gained a couple, I think is excellent.

                          What I know:
                          1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.
