No weightloss to report again this week..........
I got a new digital scale and it actually weighs me at 305.8 so it's scary how close I am to 306

I have today off and won't be at school tomorrow so I won't be able to do my 'official' weigh-in until Wedensday. The suspense is killing me. I'm hoping for at least ONE pound. I'll be happy with just 1 pound...anything!

Congrats Luna on the weight loss.

Suga, I also got a new scale a few weeks ago that put me up about 3 pounds. With the stall I was in, that little bit of info didn't sit too well with me. But still I did not give up. Hang in there girl! The weight will start to come off. Also, go to www.caloriesperhour.com to check your BMI and the amount you're supposed to eat based on your activity level (also can check how much to eat based on your activity level at www.caloriescount.com). Please make sure you're eating enough. I also started measuring and realized my guestimating was off. Do you measure your food? I know it sounds like a lot of work but it will pay off in the long run.

Liz, my fingers are crossed for some good news for you.

Roger, your dedication to exercise is inspiring. Keep up the great work!!

Chicklady, my fingers are crossed for you for no stalls (hope it's just paranoia).

            Keep on keeping on everyone!!

Ok I have some information for you Cat.... I went to that site and got my BMR and my RMR. BMR is 2118 and RMR is 2067, now if I am understanding this right these would be the numbers of calories I would expend if I was just laying around or at rest for the day with a sedentary lifestyle.
So if Im not consuming that many calories Im guessing my body is thinking its gonna go hungry and therefore hanging onto my fat stores in case of a famine. Is that correct?
And if I am exercising I need more calories than that everyday, is that right too? According to that site even if I only get light activity 1-3 days a week then I should be consuming between 2800 and 2900 calories? Isnt that alot?
If you think I figured something wrong PM me and I will give you my and my husbands stats for you to check
As far as measuring my food......yes when ever I fix a new item I measure, but by now I am eating pretty much the same thing most days and so I dont measure those items.

Do you weigh daily? This could just be a day to day fluctuation, unless it has been creeping up over the last few days?

Too weird. I guess your idea to repeat the first 5 days might give you a clue. You might be eating something that's legal, but not to you, if I said that right. Not to get oo personal, but how is your "regularity"? I find I gain weight with cheddar and other hard cheeses cause they constipate me.

                      • Re: Century Club - Springing Into Action!

Suga, sounds pretty accurate. When my BMR is calculated with the "moderate exercise" equation, I should be eating 3,550 CALORIES to sustain my current weight. When I first read that I was in disbelief but this came straight from a personal trainer and nutritional consultant. Now I was told in order to lose weight, you should subtract -500 calories per day to lose 1-2 pounds per week or subract -1000 calories per day to lose 2-4 pounds per week. But I was told you should never drop below your BMR (for me that's 2,300 calories) for more than a day because that's how many calories your body needs to function.

I know with Atkins we don't have to count calories at all, but it's something to keep in mind when you're tracking in fitday. When I started tracking everything I ate, I found I was only averaging about 900 calories/day, even with all my exercise! I just wasn't hungry. I've had to force myself to increase that because my body was going into 'starvation' mode. Does that make sense? It still baffles me! lol

You are correct. If you're not getting enough calories your body will hold onto whatever fat stores that you have preparing for that famine. Even though Atkins is more carb-conscious than calorie-conscious, I've read around the board that calories do count. I do know that the days I eat more, I lose. The days I eat less I will either go up a pound or stall. I've had to make myself eat on some days but I remind myself that if I don't then that stupid scale won't move. Please try it for a few days (with legal foods that aren't your trigger foods) and let me know how it goes. I hope both you and your husband break out of this stall. I KNOW how frustrating it can be.

                                Well that would explain alot......
I am getting nowhere near what I should be eating to sustain me. Most days I am getting around 1900 calories some days as low as 1600 but never over 2200. Im gonna try eating more and see what happens.
Heres something else now. I just got a used recumbant bicycle given to me and I expect to be on it more regularly then I am walking just because I can do it in the convenience and privacy of my home so that will mean I need even a few more calories??
Ohh and have I told you all how WONDERFUL you are? I mean it.....you are the best bunch of people, so helpful and always offering up a kind word when someone needs it. I just love the bunch of you! MUAHHH!
