    Thanks Sarah and Jammie,

    The swelling in my foot and ankle is still pretty bad but the doctor doesn't want to wait too much longer for surgery. It's been almost 2 weeks since the break. So surgery is scheduled for Monday. They will keep me overnight for observation and antibiotics. Please pray for me. This will be my first surgery and really my first time ever staying in the hospital. I'm a bit nervous but just ready to get it all over with! Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll keep you guys posted when I can.

        Liz, I'm sure you'll do fine in the hospital. Hopefully you get really nice nurses. That will make a big difference. I pray that your surgery goes flawlessly and that you heal very well. God is good. Hang in there !

          Thanks, I'm just ready to recover and get back to the gym. I miss my Kick class and my trainer so badly! I'm suprised at how much I really do miss working out. I hope my ankle doesn't hinder that in the future.

            You should be able to get back to the gym at some point.
            THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO IS FOLLOW THE DOCTOR'S ORDERS & THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST IF YOU HAVE ONE!!! If he says no weight bearing then no weight bearing on that ankle, if he says no exercise then no exercise, if he says light excercise ask him to clarify cause I can guarentee that doesn't mean go to kick class... Now that is the nurse & the mom coming out in me!!!

              Thanks Nurse Glenda! I promise to follow my doctor's orders. I think I will be non-weight bearing for 4-6 weeks. The original doctor I saw said it might be 3-4 months before I was ready for the gym and even then it might just be the treadmill and stationary bike, my two least favorite things to do at a gym. This really stinks.

                        I know it stinks but one day at a time Liz! I think that until the repair is done & the doctors see how your recovery goes will dictate what you will be able to do. In the meantime maybe your trainer can come up with some ideas to at least work out your upper body & abs. The important thing is to do something for exercise. This is just a temporary set back & before you know it you'll be back to kickin A$$ at the gym!! I be thinking of you tomorrow & asking for God's grace on the hands of the surgeon.

                              70 minutes today (110 crunches, 66 push-ups, 30 min walk, 30 min C25K week 2 day 1 session - that was a challenge!)

                                I totally have lost count of my exercise minutes. I stopped going to swim and started having to go to school almost everyday for study group or to work on lab or projects. I guess all I have to go on is my weight.

                                I plan on starting back swimming on Monday, when I start summer school.
