  • Re: UK!

Hi everyone, I am new here and typed in UK because I wanted to know if there was a UK group. This thread popped up so I just want to say hi, my name is Karen and I live in Cheshire.
I am determined to lose my weight and I am going to do it this time. I have a tummy tuck planned for 5 weeks time and cant wait!
Elizellen, I can't believe how great you look!!! I have zoomed through to the last page of the thread without reading any other bits as I have been sat on the computer for 3 hours this morning just finding my way around this site. I love it!!!
I must go and do a bit of housework!!! Shall have to drag myself away x x x x

      Hi Kaz
Welcome to the UK 'common room' at ADBB

If you dont mind me asking, are you paying privately for the tuck or getting it on the NHS? What sort of cost does it work out to if you have to pay for it? I too am hoping eventually to get my saggy bits tidied up, but havent looked into it yet.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I don't mind you asking at all. I can't wait to get this done as I have had horrendous stretch marks and a saggy tum for 15 years, since having my daughter.
The NHS wouldn't help at all. It was my problem as far as they were concerned.
I looked into surgery in this county and was quoted from £7,200 to £9,300 !!!

There was no way on earth I could afford that so I looked at going abroad. I have now booked with a clinic in Prague after having made lots of enquiries. I even drove 200 miles to meet two ladies who had the same surgeon and went to the same clinic. They looked fantastic and gave me all the ins and outs of what happens. I have been to meet one of the team who also comes over here to work in Bristol. You can't go into this lightly!

My proceedure is going to be a full tummy tuck and muscle repair with liposuction to hips, upper abdomen and flanks (love handles).

The cost for this, inclusive of flights, accommodation for a week, the operation and return flights is £3,400. I have just managed to save this up. You get two years to return free of charge if you are not happy.

I will keep you updated if you are interested x x x

Not too bad - I also started on Monday, luckily with the support and participation of my partner. Had a few rough days on day 2 and 3 and must admit, the tension has a been a bit strained in our household at the moment but I think that's just withdrawls. Much better now! Just keen to see some results to keep myself motivated!

Hi guys, Great to hear from you!
I fell off Atkins and gained 10lb which i'm horrified with! I am kicking back in with the good old Atkins on Monday. Part of me is dreading it as i'm loving my pasta and go ahead biscuits...but...the other part of me wants to feel in control again...and not constantly bloated.
I started to read threads on this site again a few days ago and felt a bit disheartened as I couldn't work out what some foods were and I was looking for UK people so i'm feeling happier now there are a few of us around!!

My tummy tuck went really well by the way and I think it's the best thing I have ever done for myself! I feel so much better...but need to shift some weight now.
Let me know how you are getting on and what foods you eat at lunch times. I was also getting fed up of omelettes every morning so need to have a search for ideas.
Good luck to us all in 2009! x x x

                      Oh...bring on Atlins!!!
I have really enjoyed my Sunday knowing it's the last carbolicious time i'm going to have. I ate all my lovely roasties with my lamb dinner then had a chocolate cheesecake afterwards. Of course, i've had a few glasses of rose wine too!
                      I have thoroughly enjoyed it....but now...I feel like ****!
I am so bloated and tired...why do I do this to myself???

I just wish I didn't work full time as I want to read about everything I need to do on this site and work gets in the way! This site is vast!!

I'll be asking lots of questions soon so I apologise in advance. Some of you guys on here are SO SO helpful and know ALL OF THE ANSWERS!! I'm so envious. x x x

How are you getting on today Welsh Kaz? Hope your feeling better? I had a bit of a slip yesterday but have picked myself back up again. I'm quite lucky that I can do that as I know plenty who dont just fall of the wagon but they crash it down a 300 m cliff as well!

Had the most boring day for food today:

Cheese for brekkie (was running really late for work)
Lunch was a piece of chicken and some salad

So looking forward to some tacoless tacos tonight as a treat.

Was hoping that a few others might give some inspirational ideas for dinners as I am a full time worker also and quite often come here for an idea or 2 to pick up on my way home.

                          Hi kiwimel!
I've stuck rigid to it today and am missing the 'bad' food so much...but it is not good for me!!!
Breakfast was a mushroom and cheese omelette.
Lunch was those Brat thingy sausages from Aldi that somebody suggested on here with salad. They were gorgeous. See, I wouldn't have known about them if it wasn't for this site.
Tea was steak with buttered cabbage.

I really wish I had more time to read the book and go over this site more as I have forgotten so much!
Don't know what tacoless tacos are??
                          I'm ok to have a cheesestring aren't I??
                          Good luck with your week

                          Speak soon xx

I just noticed this thread was very long and covered 3 years of posts so have started a new one for 2009 here

I have copied/moved all 2009 posts to it and closed this thread.
