        • Second time round for me too. I lost about 30 - 40 lbs just over 18 mths ago but slowly got into my bad eating habits again xmas 2003 and just could never get back on the wagon. Got the news that I am diabetic last week so thought thats just the push I need to get back on Atkins so here I am :wave

Things I have noticed is there seems to be more variety of vegetable allowed now, or am I imagining it :confused
Also notice some of the same topics coming up again e.g. "My cat loves Atkins" :joy

Well one week in and I dont seem to have lost much. Hope the whoosh fairy (is she still about urplequ: ) visits me soon.

The weight doesn't come off as fast/easy as it does the 1st time around. Be patient and stick to it and they will come off :nod

              • Okay, I am in. I went from 185 to 140 my first time, and now none of my clothes fit right and I've gained close to 20 lbs. How did this happen to me?

                Second time starts today!

                  • Fell off the the Atkins wagon again :no :anger

Work has been really stressful of late so t started with the bread for lunch then progressed onto the rest, toast, potatoes for dinner, hot chips, KFC, cake, coffee, sugar in my coffee, potato chips, chocolate, wine, champagne, beer. :yikes :sadblinky

I need to get back onto Induction, I think I've put on two pounds :sadblinky

But I'm back and staying back.

                    • Welcome back xcape! You've made great progress with your loss so far, just hang in there. Its tough, but you can do it. My thought is: we will make mistakes. Its how you deal with them that matters. And, you have chosen to move past it and get back on track. Congrats for that! :wave

                      • Count me in!

I was gung-ho, lost 10 pounds and then my wt-loss crawled - maybe a pound every 2 weeks - maybe. Then it stopped. I drank more water. I exercised harder. I got frustrated.
The test for candida came out positive, so I got all the supplements and hit the super restrictive diet... ouch! After 12 days I couldn't take it and freaked out! I saw the guy at a rest. making desserts and wanted to throw myself on them (and I've never had cravings like that... my willpower is usually not an issue).
So here I am, back up 8 pounds from my lowest (still down 12 from my beginning point)... and I need to start over. And it is harder! I've been teetering back and forth re. re-induction... ("can't I just skip it?") I know better! So...
I've started taking martial arts 2x/wk and once my knee is better I'll do something else aerobic 2 other days- I'm aiming for a min. of 4 days/wk of aerobic exercise with some wts thrown in...
Now to get all that water down... :yes
Ahhh to be called a 'LOSER'!!

                        • Hi everyone! I joined up in the roll call topic, but then saw this, so I'll sign up again!

I'm Marion, and this is my second time around. I did induction for 6 months last year and lost 70 pounds, then got REALLY sick. It took from the end of November thru March to get better, and I finally got restarted in April, and its been a tough road. I only gained back 30 of the 70 pounds, but I haven't yet reached that low I hit then of 309. My final goal is 165, but my mini goal is 299 by my birthday in October. Nice to be a part of the club, all, and the odds are STAC'ed in our favor! BOL! :hug

                            • :wave :wave Hello and Hello, Im so happy there is a forum for us. i wouldnt classify this as my second time round more like my 7th time round the whole of last yr was spent yoyoing around and changing diets due to frustration.

Started this yr well tried sticking to this way of eating but living in hostel made it difficult. Im glad to say that i didnt gain any of the 56 pounds i initially lost when i started the diet in 2003.

Now im back to complete the mission i started off doing, im down 12 pounds got another 35 lbs to go before reaching goal. I have more energy now and i am more determined not to let 2005 go by without me losing most of the 35pounds.

Like some of you i have been trying to lose weight for ages i look back at some of my resolutions that i kept and my resolutions to lose weight date as far back as 1999. that 6 yrs without keeping it this will certainly not be yr 7.

                              Thanks and good luck yall
                              :yes :yes

I have been 10 days cheat free and have lost 3.5 pounds. Started walking 20 minutes every morning, this is day 4. Can I join you all? I am here to motivate and be motivated, no excuses, no cheating!
