      Re: OH no not again!

Upon reading someone elses post on not eating meat I decided to give that a go yesterday, ate 4 eggs but thank goodness they are Omega 3 eggs, vegetarian fed hens. Only meat I consumed was about .25 cup of pepperoni and that was only because I was late for class and could not stop to eat. This morning 130.2 lbs. mmm! To bad there is not a vegetarian style atkins out there. I have a hard time consuming enough meat to bring my calories up.

Leah, you can be vegetarian and still succeed on this WOL. Do a search on vegetarian and you will find many posts from many people who are doing just that. Finelly is not a meat eater, yet she is doing wonderfully.

If you feel like you need to stay on induction there is no reason not to. Just keep on trucking the way you have been. It'll come off eventually, you've got to have patience - you didn't gain it in two weeks, after all!

Your so right knickknack. and this morning with cutting down a bit on meat to just one serving a day I was at 130 but the best part waist is down two inches. I will persevere and try to have patience lol.

                      Re: OH no not again!

Well it is Sunday and last night my son invited me to a Cast Party after his production this week-end. Let me just say it was an Atkins dream come true lol. Tons of good stuff on the buffet eg. shrimp, scallops, chicken wings, cheeses, roast beef, veggies, mmm it was soooo good, I ate a lot but still managed to keep under 1400 cal which to me was amazing. Only thing I did do was had two glasses of white wine. Yikes! oh well I am not going to beat myself up I thought I did really well in passing up the desserts they looked so delicious lol......I will persevere.....

                        Re: OH no not again!

wine is a much better cheat than a dessert, in terms of being bad for you. I find it harder to pass up alcohol than desserts personally. ;-)

Sounds like you're doing really well though, keep up the good work!

Aren't cast parties wonderful? Around here, the actors are mostly all watching carbs, so the food spread is nothing short of heavenly! I live for those moments!

                            Re: OH no not again!

I can't believe I have been on induction for three weeks and only lost 4 lbs. Today I was so tired, no energy. I am taking vitamins and yes counting the carbs in those too. When I try to up my calories my carbs also go up so it is hard for me to eat more. Wondering if I should increase the carbs a little so as to up the calories. I am looking at the chart on FitDay and wondering how I can be NOT losing. 3500 cals = 1lb. Oh well maybe I am due for a whoosh. The first time I tried atkins lost 10lbs in two weeks but stuck on 130lb. Well here I am again. I think my scale in conspiring against me lol. Today my menu consisted of , 2 omega three eggs, 2cups of lettuce, 1cup of low fat turkey, 6 olives, one small tomato, 1 large mushroom. The salad was with zero carb dressing. Then during class tonight I had a SouthBeach Diet high protein bar, and later 1oz of cheese, I big mug of green tea and lots of water all day....Am I doing something wrong here?

                              Re: OH no not again!

Hi Leah, hope you are hanging in there. Careful with those protein bars. They tend to stall some people. Otherwise, I think you did a great job of adding in more veggies. Hang in there - the whooshie fairy will visit. Since you are looking to lose approximately 15 pounds, it may take a little longer to lose. Maybe you should consider moving up the OWL rungs. As Nikki mentioned, she was at a stall and moved on to OWL and lost more weight. And as Finelly mentioned, the second time around goes a little slower for some of us (me included).

Hope you are doing well and not giving up on this way of eating. With regard to vegetarian ways of eating, I'm pretty sure that the DANDR has some recipes for vegetarians in the back of the book.

                                Re: OH no not again!

Hi Sarah: Thanks for the encouragement. I will up my carbs to 25 and see if this makes a difference. I will also banish the protein bars for the next week to see if this helps also. Looking at the label it sounds good, 140cal, fat 5g, carbs 15 with 3 fibre. and a whopping 10g of Protein. Not to mention they satisfy any sweet craving I have but then again there are sugars and sugar alcohols also. So ok my son can enjoy the bars he loves them as a snack. I will persevere with this way of eating I am determined to lose the weight.
