    Re: STRICT Induction Thread

Alrighty, day six is it? I've been doing well, although the scale isn't moving. TOM probably. Today I had some sunflower seeds, so I spose I didn't do strict the way that strict is supposed to be done. I was just so hungry all day!!!

anyway, all is well on this end, I can tell i'm losing inches as my pants are falling off of me again. They were loose before, but now I think I could take them right off without unbuttoning them! ;-P

I haven't measured though - I'll do that this coming tuesday I think.

    How'd everyone else do?

Forgot to post yesterday, but it was a good day.

I got in about 80 oz of water. Only a multi-vitamin - bummer. Ate ok and on plan.

            Today is DAY 2!!

                    Re: STRICT Induction Thread

                    Happy Monday guys!

Doing good here today. I had two breakfast muffins this morning. Lunch will be a salad w/ranch dressing, and right now I'm debating between getting the larger salad with grilled chicken or going with 2 small cheeseburgers instead. Hmm.... But for dinner, chicken thighs and cauliflower.

Knick - how do you make your green bean and lamb thing? I was thinking of making something like that, except with ground beef. But, what else do you put in it?

You guys are doing so great!!! Keep up the good work!!

Hello everyone- I was directed here to check in. I am restarting induction today. So far so good (it's only 10am) but I will do fine. For breakfast I was so late so grabbed a side of eggs and sausage from McDonalds. That is probably not good huh? Well I plan on doing my elliptical tonight for at least 20min to start and then try my pilates dvd. I am open to all suggestions or advice. Thanks

                        Re: STRICT Induction Thread

Side of eggs and sausage sounds pretty good to me. Unless they put flour or something in it, but that seems unlikely.

My lamb and green beans thing is this (I also make it with hamburger):

Fry up ground meat (usuallya bout a pound and a half) in a big frying pan, and drain. Keep about 2 tablespoons of the grease from the meat in the pan. Put the meat to the side.

In the grease that's left over, put in some crushed garlic, diced onion (I used the dried onion flakes), salt, pepper, and about a tablespoon or two of garam masala. Sautee this until everything is nice and cooked.

Pour a cup or two of beef broth into the mixture (more of this makes it have more flavor but takes longer to cook). Add the meat back in. Simmer down and make sure the meat gets the flavoring in it.

Near the end, when there's not too much liquid left, throw in a can of drained green beans.

                        Stir.

                        Eat!

Great job jumping in there Sara. The first time around I would grab some mcd's eggs and sausage on occasion. Didn't seem to phase me then. For whatever reason, the sausage patties do contain 2 grams of carbs, just FYI. I still get those on occasion.

Getting back in the saddle today. This morning had one scrambled egg with cheese. I brought lunch of green beans and roasted chicken. I don't know what I'm eating for dinner but it will be healthy and induction-friendly. I never really got off track but have let carbs sneak back in.

Knick, thanks for posting the recipe. I definitely want to try that!!! What is "garam masala" as Star has already asked. That would be the only thing I'm unfamiliar with.

I cannot wait to try it. I will buy the ingredients this weekend and let you know
