I also enjoy that my life dont revolve around food, and i can actually eat like a normal person.
You know, the first time I did Induction, my supervisor at work actually said that I had become a completely different person after losing 30 pounds. Not that my body was different (and it was), but my personality had changed so much, for the better. I am so excited about STAC and the future!

        Good Morning, Everyone!

I really like the fact that there are so many things that I can eat on this WOE that I couldn't have going low fat. For instance, I ate so much chicken doing low fat, that I can rarely eat it now. I swear, I got to the point that if I ate anymore, I would sprout feathers and start clucking. Now, I can have it if I want it, but I don't have to have it. Also, for someone who was never a vegetable eater, I now eat an amazing amount of vegetables... and really like them. This WOE really does change your taste preferences - for the better!

It's good to hear from everyone this morning. No work for me today, so I am on my way out of the door to ride my bike in the sunshine. Let's all have a wonderful day!

Val, My boss said the same thing. Actually she said "Whatever you're on, I want some of it" LOL I told her "It's not what I'm ON, It's what I'm OFF that's doing it".

The thing I like the most is just the fact that it works. Ya’ll have inspired me to go back and reread my book. I am having a great day. I almost cheated last night at Boston Market…I got the turkey, grilled veggies, and was trying to decide on my second side item when my boyfriend said just get the sweet potato casserole that you like, you can have that on atkins right? My brain said just say yes and get it (mmmmm yummy) but then I said “no, it is not allowed…I will have the green beans”. This Morning as if in reward for doing the right thing my scales were kind enough to tell me I am down another pound today. I feel great and amazingly hyper! I just want to hop up and run around the office but then my coworkers will think I am nuts so I will just wait till lunch and then dash over to Ross for a 1 hour shop-a-thon. Does trying on clothes count as exercise?

Ok...Did I get you in the trying on clothes mood? Sorry. Get your asset out there on your bike and get your miles in. You can try on clothes later. I didn't buy a single item (even though I looked pretty hot in a couple outfits)...I figure I can weight till I hit goal and then go on a mad shopping rampage as a reward.

Don't be sorry!! It's a hoot! I was looking at my different workout pants and wondered if one that's been tight would fit now. It did. And then a pari from last week, and then a new pair I wrote about here, and the second pair... heh heh!!

Re: Wed Check in, knowledge is power

For me, the most important thing is that this is a WOE as opposed to a diet. I'm only on day 8 of my induction, so my opinion may change down the line. But as soon as I start a diet, I find it hard to sustain... I feel like I'm missing sometihng. Now with Atkins, my mind shift has happened and as I'm treating this as a WOE as opposed a diet, it seems to be easier.

Like everyone else, not being so hungry helps!

It has for me, too. Especially since I joined on here. Making the needed adjustments has taken quite a bit of effort but man, I feel so much better health-wise. This isn't shortterm, it's for good.

My siblings are kind of balking at starting because they've gotten a taste of what it takes to line up with Atkins. None of them want to put the effort into it right now for various reasons. Which is ok; each wants to lose only 40 pounds. I'm the one who needed this desperately, with almost 130 pounds to lose, crappy health, bad knees, etc... They're very encouraging and surprised by how dug in I am, more so than the first time.
