        Yay, Jess! I'm still very scared of bathing suits.

        Missy Miss... about considering adding extra carbs... I think it is worth a try. Look at my experience:

        Week 1 - 5 pound loss
        Week 2 - 2 pound loss (TOM)
        Week 3 - 4 pound loss
        Week 4 - No loss
        Week 5 - 1 pound loss (TOM)
        Week 6 - 1 pound loss
        Week 7 - 2 pound loss (added in more veggies to practice for veggie challenge)
        Week 8 - 3 pound loss (actual week of veggie challenge; took in a minimum of 17 net veggie carbs per day)
        Week 9 - 3 pound loss (I pretended that the veggie challenge wasn't over and kept my veggies up. Yesterday was weigh-in day and even though TOM graced me with his presence today, I still lost 3 pounds!)

        It appears that taking in more veggies has done the job for me. I couldn't be happier. I am now only 10 pounds away from my lowest weight doing Atkins the first time around (see my info in my siggie). I am in OWL and I have taken in between 17 and 22 net veggie carbs (carbs - fiber = net) per day, and I love the variety. Something to think about.

        Hope everyone has a great Atkins day.

        That is great.. Tom is coming on Mother's Day And I am so worried about weigh in next week.. But I will keep on plugging at it.. Great job keep at it

          Hi all, new to the STAC, so will give a quick intro. Did Atkins about 3 to 4 yrs ago, lost about 50 pounds, life happened, gained it back plus another 35 or so. Realized Atkins is the only WOE that has ever helped me to lose weight, read the book, started about a week ago. Here I am!

          My weigh ins are on Tuesday evening (I kinda sorta broke our scale when I was at my highest), but I do know that I dropped 2 pounds last week (with my shoes on even!!!!!). This weekend, I did what I always do, sit in front of my computer and work, sneak outside to work in the yard when I can, chat with the neighbors, oh, and deal with prepubescent children (I really don't remember acting like they do), but I did eat on track, tried a Korean BBQ for dinner last night with cauliflower rice that turned out awesome.

          I was slicing strawberries to put on angel food last night for the family, and slicing those strawberries I so wanted to just pop one in my mouth. Luckily, I had cut up some jicama to marinate for a salad, was popping those in my mouth instead. I am looking forward to the berry rung, that's for sure.

                Good Morning everybody!
                Just thought I would check in. I'm glad everybody had a good weekend overall. Saturday was a bit of a drag for me (had to work a double shift and my car wouldn't start) but Sunday was a good day. Taking away the diet soda has been a bit of a challenge so far, but I think it was probably one of the main reasons I was stalling, so I'm gonna stay strong!

                    Thank you everybody, very glad to be here among such great people!

                    I have a question though, measurements... is there is a group of standard areas? i.e. upper arm, chest, waist, hips, etc? I have noticed that some people will list how many inches, but from where? I took measurements a couple of weeks ago, but was wondering which ones are pertinent.. Thx, Lizzy

                            Good morning! Glad to see that you are all here today. My thoughts and prayers go out to your mom, Sheepie - but she sounds like a fighter!

                            Trying to get in all my water and all my veggies today! I'm also going to make an effort to go to our stairwell and walk up and down some flights a few times a day - No more swollen ankles for me!
