    Good Morning STACer's,

    Just in for a bit to say hello! Big things happening at work, quite the busy guy!! I just wanted to say good morning and wish you all a successful day!

    Don't forget to plan your day, don't let it plan you, you plan it.

    I think this needs to be mentioned, we kind of joked about 'cheating' yesterday. I can't stress the importance of not cheating. You all know my story, the Christmas cookie that turned into a 10 week binge and a 14 pound gain. Don't let this happen to you. That 'drink' that 'sweet' that 'flour' could result in devastating results and sabotage all the hard work and energy that you have put in so far!

    Stick to plan.
    Plan to stick.
    Focus on your short term and long term goals instead of 'planning cheats'.

    I only bring this up because I do care for each and every one of you, and I personally know how easy it is to spiral out of control!

    Good Morning Everyone.. I agree with Scooter.. I do everything in my power to plan to stay on program.. I know one morsel of a chocolate chip cookie would ruin me.. I don't want to start over either...

    Today my daughter and I are going to the Y for our orientation to use the weight machines.. I am so NOT looking forward to this...lol

      Make it fun Sandy!!! I tell you it gets addictive, ya know? All those weight machines look a little scary at first, but it does help! Good for you!!! Keep us posted on your progress!! You're really doing well!!

          Good morning everyone. Sandy, much as I hate exercise for exercise's sake (I want it to be fun too), the exercise machines are kinda fun. You can track your progress so precisely that it's very motivating. Now if only there was a Y that had all the machines outside instead of in a sweaty gym! I would love that!

            Sandy, DO NOT...I repeat....DO NOT be afraid of weight training. If you want to lose weight and really change the shape of your body, WEIGHT TRAINING is what you want to do. Lift heavy too, don't fall into the false thought pattern that women need to train with lower weights and higher repetitions. Lift as heavy a weight as you can for 8-12 repetitions (3 sets) only.

            I'm telling you, if you want RESULTS, you want to weight train. Trust me, you are NOT going to get bigger. You might gain weight on the scale for a day or two, but you WILL get HUGE losses on the tapemeasure!!

            Hit those weights, girl!!!

            Okay, 187.6 this morning. That @!$#$ tea was the problem I think!!!

              Hey everyone!! I'm doing good...day 4 and I just had my lunch. I needed something quick so I had a plate full of salami, ham, cheese, olives, and a few pork rinds! lol Gotta love this WOE!!

              I have a love hate relationship with Exercise. I HATE getting my rear off the couch to go, but once I go I feel sooo much better! Last week I wasn't feeling good at all, it was TOM, I had a bad headache and 0 energy...I forced myself to go and when I was done and got home I felt sooo good!! I love that a workout can do that for you!!!

                Helloooo.....Good point Scooter.....it would be really sad to see any of you disappear off the board here because you'd slid off the wagon. Hopefully we all love ourselves enough to stay on and get healthy!

                Sandy....check out Joy's before and after pics again...I don't think weight training has done too much damage to her! That proves that a few pounds of muscle weight would be worth it!

                I did a lot of reading last night about OWL and am thinking about moving up to Dairy....cottage cheese here I come!

                  MG, have fun!!!!

                  Sandy, muscle burns fat even when you're resting. So, the more muscle you have on your body, the more fat you'll burn. I'm on a mission to gain as much muscle as I can, so the fat will burn right off.

                    Thanks Joy. A couple of days as a couple instead of just being parents 24/7 is good for all of us!
                    I was reading a lot of posts/threads last night about OWL and am pretty pumped by all the good stuff people had to say (including yourself). It feels good too to know there's a plan of attack to follow instead of stumbling along making up my own rules.

                      I'm here! The remembrance of what my one cheat did to me physically is enough to stop me from doing it again. I didn't gain weight at all from it, and continued to lose, but MAN was I SICK within like, an HOUR of eating it. Really sick. I'm too scared of that happening to me again - yuck.

                      I have a TON of stuff to do around here as our pool opens this weekend so we will be on the go. Gotta get cleaning and I swore I'd get back on the Slim in 6 bandwagon so I have a date with the pixie......

                        Good morning all. I've been gone from here for about a week just due to a terribly busy schedule.

                        Scooter, I agree with you as always.

                        I'm going on a cruise in about a week and still planning how I'm going to handle it!!

                          Good Morning! I get off work early today, so I slept in and didn't do my exercise this morning. Going to do it this afternoon when daughter gets out of school.
                          I've cheated a few times, I never feel good about it--I'm only cheating myself and slowing my weight loss. When you do cheat, though, you have to take a deep breath, and decide you're not going to let one mess up make you give up this whole WOE. I feel so much better eating this way, that even if I never lost another pound, it would still be worth it for the way my body feels. (Not to say that it wouldn't really tick me off if I quit losing. lol)

                            Morning everyone!
                            Scooter thanks for starting us off on ther right foot this morning!

                            I won't go into detail but I had meetings and conferences all day that I ASSUMED would serve food that I could convert to Atkins and that was not the case. My lack of planning completely derailed me. I went to bed last night feeling so bloated, huge and miserable that i know its proof this is the way to eat, not the way I ate yesterday.
                            Thats all I shall say, I am ashamed and bummed, but I am moving on and starting clean today. I will win this battle I have to!!!

                            So wednesday I hit the gym and did 45 walking lunges. OMG!!!!!! I can barely walk, sit, anything right now! I am in so much pain, all I can do today is the treadmill for good long cardio session and maybe some upper body weights.

                            So happy thursday, and hope everyone has a great day!!

                              That's it....refocus and keep moving on. If you can avoid a cheat at all costs, it's much better. But, if it happens....refocus, get back on track and move forward.
