    Hey all!

    This is the last week of school for me, Saturday is teacher check-out, and I have a week off until Summer School starts. This week I have lots of organizing and ordering and filing to do.

    I am also refocusing...or rather, shifting my focus. With this knee problem that's come up, I have to shift my focus from running to strength training and flexibility. Now that I'm off from running for a couple weeks, I *AM* going to get that 3rd day of strength training in regularly, and I am going to start doing pilates and yoga again. As for cardio, I'm going to switch to the bike for a while and stay off the treadmill and elliptical machine (grr, the elliptical, I think somehow that's what aggravated my knee! Of all things, the one machine that's supposed to be GENTLE on joints). So in a way I'm sad to take a break from running--I feel like I was making great progress--but I'm also excited to change it up a little. My body will thank me!

    Water is OK, food is ok, but I also think I'm still eating too much fat. Not that I'm doing anything horribly wrong, I just am always trying to tweak things to make them better.

      Good morning, all. Feeling more like an observer than a participator. So for those who have the ability to DO Atkins, count your blessings and go for the gold. Lying around recovering is tough to accept but I have to. Take care and have a great day.

        Good Morning Everyone!

        Another Monday and great to see everyone focusing and determined to stay on track or do better. Oh BTW...for all the Canadians on the board, Happy Victoria Day!

        I too struggle with drinking enough water, but since putting thin slices of cucumber in it AND drinking it room temperature, I've found it lots easier. Its refreshing. Try it!

        I too vow to do more exercise this week. I walked and biked last week but only 3 days, so this week I will do 4 or 5. Hoping the weather gets nicer so I can do more biking.

          Good morning, everybody!

          I am focused and ontrack. I am so excited that we kick off the summer season this weekend! Yay Memorial Day. Gotta love it.

          I am finally pretty much caught up here at work, after vacationing for a week. I feel my life is pretty much back in order, and that is a great feeling!

            Monday morning is weigh in for me. Didn't loose anything but I just got through Week 3 and I have read enough on this board to know it is common to not loose during this week. It is a bummer, but my clothes fit better so I have to assume I am doing ok. At least I didn't gain anything. I am going to follow Perfect's advise and measure myself when I get home tonight. I am going to also follow today's trend and FOCUS. More water, more exercise, no coffee (which means less splenda and cream, a weakness of mine....) I may modify my mini goal. I am not feeling like it is realistic anymore since I have lost nothing for quite some time. But, we'll see.

            Sandy, I admire your conviction. I think we both may be at a slow point together. In the beginning of this diet it is very exciting and the rewards happen quickly. I think this is when I give up alot of times, but I refuse to this time. I have to remind myself that I feel better and am actually enjoying my exercise. AND I am eating things that are good for me and taste excellent.

            Lets all focus and do good this week!!!

              I'm totally up for a water challenge! Thanks to Debbie Siebers kicking my heinie today, I have one 16 oz cup down the hatch.....I'm so sore but this working out first thing in the morning really works!! Usually I wait till my youngest is napping and at that point it's lunchtime, my soap is on, I have to clean up after lunch yada yada yada then I don't want to exercise.

              This way, I get it over with and can forget about it the rest of the day - except for wimpering when going up the stairs

                Hey all.

                Checkn in. Toga Party was lots of fun. I saw the exDB and we talked for a long time. Since Saturday, we have had a few conversations. I wouldn't mind trying a relationship with him again. I'm just concerned about extra emotional triggers when I'm trying to create new habits and change.

                DAY 1 for me. No DC so far and it is 11:30am. I had 8 oz coffee so as not to get a caffeine headache.

                Sandy, you are doing great girl. When the motivation is not at its peak, and you still push through it, that is when our brains knit new neurotransmitters to create a habit. (A little techy, I know). Anyway, basically it is the time when you are doing the most work on change. I'm sooo proud of you for having that salad, even if it was dry and probably not what you wanted. Such progress.

                Jess, Your picture looks great! I bet you feel more healthier!

                And, everyone else, Floyd Girl, Tack Candy and Struedle, I am so glad to have y'alls input and daily triumphs.

                    Thanks Candy..Even though I am getting frustrated.. I just figured..it I quit..what good is that going to do..Nothing..I will put the 19lbs back on and then some.... When exercising I feel like I am getting thinner underneath all this fat..

                      Thanks...If you had seen me complaining last night eating that salad.. I was like this is nasty this makes me mad... but I kept on it and ate to fuel my body and that was it..lol

                      If it wasn't for the support of this board I would have quit many weeks ago.. I almost feel like if I snuck away someone would come looking for me..lol

                        Yeah, we WOULD come looking for you (now that we know you are somewhere near pottery on Rt. 60 in VA!!!!!!!!!) You'd better plan on hanging around here for some time.

                            Hey all! Im checking in late as usual. I am soooo not a morning person! I usually just roll outta bed and go to work. But I have a two hour lunch break (yes I know its weird and it sucks) so thats when I usually check in. Mondays are my late day at work, so I dont know if Im gonna get my butt out to exercise today, but Im gonna try.

                            It seems like everyone is doing well, thats good news!

                            Sandy, Im glad you didnt quit on us! I knew you could do it!
