    Re: Monday morning Roll Call

It's rather late in the day, but I've been busy busy busy. Today I stepped on the scale to find out I'd dropped below 150. For me, this was a huge ocassion! I haven't been sub 150 in easily 4 years. Although my "goal" weight is 135, my big internal goal was to break 150! I'm actually getting RATHER skinny now, my lifetime maintanence goal might be 145 in reality. Either way, today validated the past 2 months of eating right, and made me proud of all your help and advice every day. Without lurking around the STAC forum, I would never have succeded like this. Thank you all!

Ryan - that's awesome! What a great success story! Stories like yours help keep me motivated, especially when I feel like I have so far to go!

Ya'll would be so proud of me! Today, two girls from my son's class came to my classroom to offer me a sugar cookie iced with chocolate. Oh my!!! I didn't want to hurt their feelings, so I asked them to put it on my desk and I would get to it later. Then, when one of my aides came in, I gave it to her. I looked at it several times, but I just kept telling myself that I would not eat it! I had a bottle of water instead!

My department had to supply the snacks for today's faculty meeting. So, since three of us are eating healthier, we had whole grain wraps, a veggie tray, a fruit tray, whole grain crackers, and nuts. We wondered if anyone would complain, but almost everything was gone by the end of the meeting! In fact, just before the meeting, one teacher in our dept. brought in some cookies. Almost all of them were still there when we cleaned up. That was pretty cool!

Of course, since I'm on rung 1, I only had veggies and legal dip!!

Cheri that's awesome! Way to go on resisting the cookie! It gets easier, and you just passed a big test with flying colors. I firmly believe that we can't hide from this stuff--junk food is everywhere, and we just have to be strong and say NO.

Very cool about your faculty meeting. Everybody at my school loves junk food. There are only a handful (and that's a handful with a few fingers missing ) of us who prefer to eat healthy things.

I got up this morning to 246 which is two and a half pound loss from day one, and this is day three. I am thrilled !!
Ate out today and stuck to plan, ate at a buffet and had pork steak and baked chicken and broc and a salad. Had a couple of tiny cubes of diet jello, the blue kind lol !!
I am feeling much better on day three and can feel the differance already in eating healthy. So, day three cheat free. I am pleased and proud !!
