    Before I run off to work...yesterday I played on Fitday and planned out my eating for the day. What a great way to do things! I got my 15 net carbs for veggies in, and then worked on my remaining 15. Great way to keep accountable for what you're putting in your bod!
    Gotta get my miles in for the mileage challenge too! Sandy and Skinnymom...why don't you think about joining this challenge next month? It's only yourself that you're challenging, and you're both doing so well! Something to think about anyways.

      MG I will join the challenge! Is the next one starting June 1st? I will need a challenge in order to keep going with the exercise once the girls are out of school. It will be harder to keep up with it once we are home all together - you know "I'm bored" and breaking up fights

      I also have started putting my food in for the day on fitday in the morning and it's fun to tweak it around, watch the percentages shift. Helps me to stay on track too.

        Ya'll are just steaming along today, everybody in each other's world cheering everybody ONWARD...
        I think that this community has grown not only in size, but in strength...
        I like to be a part of strong things...I want to be strong and in control of the foods I eat and the exercise I do, and the water I drink.
        Today I am drinking more water than other stuff!
        Today I ran 2 miles, and was so tired from all the "2-days" I did over the weekend. Tonight my daughter and I will ride bikes again and it wil be a "2-a-day" for me and I might try to get some laps in at the pool BEFORE all the highschoolers get there...All the high school kids get out at 11:30, mine included...she hid under a towel yesterday while all the skinny girls ruled the pool with their bikini's and suntans...I refuse to hide! I will go to the pool and then paint the dining room and eat well today...and bike tonight!!!

          Mornin Everyone

          Well, it was weigh in day and I only lost l lb. Guess its better than nothing or gaining, but I've been really good, so who knows. Oh well onward and downward!

          Wishing the darn weather would clear up so I could get outside and go biking or for a nice walk in the sun, but nooooooooo, looks like it will be cloudy and gloomy with chance of showers right til the weekend. Gonna have to keep myself active inside.

          Going to buy a yoga tape today. Anyone else do yoga?

          Glad everyone is well and staying on track. Have a good one!

            Congratulations Sweet strudel. 1lb is still a loss, no matter what! Take a look at a lb of butter and imagine that now gone forever from your body!

                Hi everyone,
                I feel like I know you all, but you don't know me so Hi!!!! (been reading the forum)
                I'm Liz. Just did my first two weeks of induction and weighed in this morning 10 lbs lighter!!!! I am sooooo happy!
                My doctor had told me back in march that I am (ack!) diabetic.... early stages no need for meds yet.... and I have been freaking out ever since.... emmediately started diet and exersize program.... nothing.... okay 3 pounds. Big Deal. Well, a few years ago my step mom went on Atkins and lost 40 lbs and kept it off... my dad gave me the book 2 weeks ago and said "I reallllllly think you neeeeed this." And being desperate.... I began. I was shock that I lost 6 lbs the first 3 days. lol.
                but that all said.... it was freaking hard. okay! Like all I want is a bowl of brown rice.... anything carb. and I confess I cheated a little.... not very much but I ate low carb chocolate a couple of times and once or twice ate a rye crisp cracker.... I could totally feel a little rush of relief.... I think the low carbs makes me a little depressed. I am exersizing to counter it and trying to stay busy. Today I am going to try some new recipes... I am definately going up 5 carbs.... but basically doing what I have been doing and my cheating has probably only been by about 5 carbs each time.
                I am so glad I found this sight. You guys are so inspirational and supportive. Thank you so much for being here.
                P.S. My stats: Highest weight: 222, start weight 212, current weight 202,next mini goal... 199, birthday goal 194 (less than a month a way) ultimate goal 149. My 18 year old daughter inspires me. She is a dancer... recently she tried to get me to take a dance class with her at her college. I said "no, I'm too fat. " She responded by telling me not to put off anything based on my weight, that there are plenty of heavy girls taking dance and that doesn't stop them..... so now I have this secret little fantasy that maybe by fall I'll be able to take a tap class or an afro/brazilian class with her.... fun. Also doing a little happy dance around the house to get my muscles relaxed.... been walking, but my mucsles are really sore in certain places....

                        Hi Liz - welcome to the board and to the STAC. I love that story you told about your daughter. She sounds like a very clever young lady. And I love even more your fantasy/goal of taking a dance class. How wonderful! I think thats really achievable. Keep posting and see you around the board!

                          Day four for me and down another half pound so that is great !!! I am feeling much better and can see a differance in my bloating !! No cheats for me now for three days, four days today, and I plan to stay that way !! We have stocked up the fridge with a ton of meat and veggies, and eggs. We grill up a ton of stuff every week so we have a choice each day and have plenty to keep us from having any excuse to cheat !!!

                            Afternoon everyone, hope all are fine and doing well today.

                            Well, I still have swelling from the surgery but it's going down and I can at least eat solid food! I was getting very tired of just soft cooked veggies and eggs. If fact, I'm getting rather bored with things and need some new recipes. Has anyone tired anything new they could share?

                            Welcome Liz! Good going you in losing 10 pounds!!! Way to go! IMO, I think the first two weeks are the hardest and once you get going the cravings will melt away. Again, you're doing super! Keep it up!

                              Thanks Mickkey and Perfect, I am so encouraged by this forum... I think I will go out and walk my dog Mia. I tell myself I am only going to walk for 30 minutes but I usually talk myself into the whole schebang and do 3miles... I'm slow, but I am working on happy and relaxed. I can't wait to try out some new recipes I found on Linda's recipe site. I tend to eat a lot of lettuce wraps, and chicken salad....my mouth is watering just thinking about those new recipes... I am going to try the Italian Casserole and the Cheddar Onion Quiche with mushrooms. That reminds me there's this horse in my neighborhood that always comes over to the fence and says Hi...when I am walking.... I think I'll surprise her this morning with a carrot. Every time I see her I think 'Darn, I forgot a carrot...' not this morning!

                                Ya know Liz, chicken salad sounds great, and Italian casserole...yum. Thanks for that idea. Good going getting your walking in. Have you thought about joining any of the challenges? Investigate the exercise forums and see if you'd like to join some. They're fun and keep you moving. New ones for the month will be starting soon, come join.
