    I'm Liz. Just did my first two weeks of induction and weighed in this morning 10 lbs lighter!!!! I am sooooo happy!
    My doctor had told me back in march that I am (ack!) diabetic.... early stages no need for meds yet.... and I have been freaking out ever since.... emmediately started diet and exersize program.... nothing.... okay 3 pounds. Big Deal. Well, a few years ago my step mom went on Atkins and lost 40 lbs and kept it off... my dad gave me the book 2 weeks ago and said "I reallllllly think you neeeeed this." And being desperate.... I began. I was shock that I lost 6 lbs the first 3 days. lol.
    but that all said.... it was freaking hard. okay! Like all I want is a bowl of brown rice.... anything carb. and I confess I cheated a little.... not very much but I ate low carb chocolate a couple of times and once or twice ate a rye crisp cracker.... I could totally feel a little rush of relief.... I think the low carbs makes me a little depressed. I am exersizing to counter it and trying to stay busy. Today I am going to try some new recipes... I am definately going up 5 carbs.... but basically doing what I have been doing and my cheating has probably only been by about 5 carbs each time.
    I am so glad I found this sight. You guys are so inspirational and supportive. Thank you so much for being here.
    P.S. My stats: Highest weight: 222, start weight 212, current weight 202,next mini goal... 199, birthday goal 194 (less than a month a way) ultimate goal 149. My 18 year old daughter inspires me. She is a dancer... recently she tried to get me to take a dance class with her at her college. I said "no, I'm too fat. " She responded by telling me not to put off anything based on my weight, that there are plenty of heavy girls taking dance and that doesn't stop them..... so now I have this secret little fantasy that maybe by fall I'll be able to take a tap class or an afro/brazilian class with her.... fun. Also doing a little happy dance around the house to get my muscles relaxed.... been walking, but my mucsles are really sore in certain places....

    Welcome hope joy... Sounds like you are off to a good start.. My daughter dances too and you can see her bod in my pictures..lol She is always trying to get me to lift my legs like she does..Its my secret desire to do so also..lol

      Thats so cool Sandy! We'll have to work on that. I was even thinking of buying myself some tap shoes and having her give me some private lessons in the garage... Fall is so far away. She is going to be in London in the Fall so actually will have to wait til next January to take a class with her at her college... but really could join a private studio if I get the nerve up. It would be a fun way to burn some fat... walking gets kinda boring sometimes.... would like to surprise her when she gets home from London with some smooth moves of my own. lol!

        I am late checking in today! It has been a crappy day at school, today, unfortunately. I am struggling with emotions and really trying to NOT eat because I'm stressed. That is the wrong reason. I can't wait to get home and exercise. Hopefully that will help!

          Hi Everyone,

          Late checkin for me too. I have to keep reminding myself today that this diet will work. Feel like I have been in a holding pattern and made the mistake of wearing a pair of snug pants. I feel nasty. Sure could use a little whooshie.

          (I have a dancing daughter too!)

              Welcome to all our new STAC members and hugs to those struggling!

              I could not exercise today. I just could not do it. My hip is totally killing me. I'm going to try to lay on a heating pad tonight and then tomorrow give it another go.

              Stayed at 61% fat today - woo hoo!! That is good for me lol - see ya'll in the morning!

                Thank you so much, Sandy. I did, for the most part. I didn't eat just to eat and I did walk this evening. It wasn't my Turbo Jam, but it was exercise and it made me feel a little better. Those are small victories, I guess! I am going to try and get a good night sleep and start tomorrow off fresh! Wish me luck!
