    Re: Wednesday Roll Call

    Good morning all!

Sandy, I am originally from NOVA althought I live in Arizona now. It was a gorgeous spring I heard!!!

I am feeling much better about my 'legal' binge last night, it was only day 2 of Induction and I went to TOWN on those mini-quiches you make in the muffin tins....then felt like garbage for doing it. But somehow I LOOK thinner this morning (scale and measurement free Induction) despite that! Makes me much more encouraged to go on.

Yall are a great supportive group, how wonderful to have someone to check in with every morning!!!

good morning everyone, i finally have a day off. i am doing laundry and cleaning. i also need to get to the grocery store. it's cool and rainy here. so, i am on day 5 of reinduction and feeling a bit discouraged because the scale is not moving as fast as it did for me the first time around. i feel like i must be doing something wrong b/c of this, but i have been die-hard on induction and am not cheating at all...so, i am thinking of putting the scale away for a while b/c i seem to be unable to resist stepping on it at least twice a day...stupid! i am also back in total headache land. so, i'm going to take some advil with my breakfast. going to see a movie sounds like a great idea to me...haven't done that in a long time. ok, hope everyone is happy and feeling strong and productive today!

            Good Morning, All!

Want to start out saying that although I don't post in the daily Roll Call every morning, I definitely do read it every day and am so happy for and proud of each and every one of you. Outstanding!

A little update on where I am - I am currently in my 3rd week doing Rung 2 on OWL. I am so happy to be moving up the rungs... the expanding variety of foods is incredible and I am feeling good. After adding new Rung 2 foods, I stayed there longer so I could up my carbs before moving further up the ladder. Last week I was able to eat 35 net carbs daily and still lost 2 pounds, so I am eating 40 net carbs this week. If all goes well with the 40 carbs (which I suspect it will), I am going to stay at 40 and go on to Rung 3 on Sunday. After being on Rung 3 for a couple of weeks, I will probably stay at 40 and move up to Rung 4. I will probably linger on Rung 4 for a while and try upping my carbs even more while there. That is my plan for the moment, anyway. On my first time around on Atkins, I didn't go through the rungs properly and I am bound and determined to do it correctly this time. So far, so good... I am feeling much more in control.

Got my 3 mile walk in this morning, and I am about to hit the floor and do some pilates. Been working on my water, too... boy, that takes a concentrated effort for me. Also, I am going to try to learn how to scan pictures onto my computer so I can post some before and during pictures. I have lost about 10 pounds since the picture in my siggie, and I have some pictures around here somewhere that I took when I started Atkins at 215 pounds. I am highly computer challenged, so this may take a while. If you hear the faint sound of screaming wherever you are, it could be me down here in Louisiana... losing my mind trying to do it.

Hope all of you have an awesome Atkins day!

              Good morning!
Glad to see Scooter's back. Hope the new computer is wonderful.

Went swimming yesterday, did laps for 30 minutes. The water was COLD! It made it easier to keep swimming, though. It's easier to swim with less mass in the water.

              Have a great day!

Mitzi, I'm looking forward to the pics, and I LOVE how you're moving up the rungs--way to go!

It sounds like everyone is doing well out there in STAC-land.

It's STILL rainy here, though not quite as badly as it was yesterday. I just got back from the gym. I did an hour long bike ride of intervals and I was dripping wet with sweat--I got in 15 miles, though! I also did ab work, and talked to the trainer about strength training. I just had my post-workout meal (I guess it would be considered breakfast because it's my first meal today) of a small grilled chicken breast and warm pumpkin with pecans.

Tonight is my 2nd clay class. Last week I made two bowls and an ornament, I'm not sure what we'll be making this week! I'm excited--I LOOOOOVE working with my hands, it's so relaxing.

                Have a great day, STACers!

Good afternoon Stacers. Great to see you back with us Scooter!
I've been in the office all day - less opportunity to go online here than when I work at home! The great news is that as I don't come into the office much - mostly I do home work - everyone kept coming up to me and saying how well I look. That was really nice. We have a work do tonight - hence me being in - but I'm going to keep it legal!

Then I'll be scooting off early from the work night and DBF and I are going to see Josh Groban in concert. I LOVE him! I was so thrilled when he decided to come to Ireland, tickets have been bought six months ago!

So you guys when he sings 'You raise me up' tonight, I'll be thinking of all my friends in ADBB who raise me up every day!

                      Hello,

Had a lousy Atkins weekend. I SO fell off the wagon and am feeling SO discouraged. I needed to cut back on the walking. I get shin splints so bad and am now getting the cursed swollen ankles. Same thing happened last Aug. and it scared me. I stopped Atkins at that time. I haven't lost anything since my first 2 weeks of induction and feel like that was just the passing of TOM and loss of water weight. I am more dilligent than ever with this WOE but the ankle thing is throwing me for a loop. My legs and feet are so tired I am having trouble going up the stairs. When I came back to Atkins and started walking again I felt great, now everyone is passing me like I am standing still I go so slowly. Seems the more water I drink, the more swollen my ankles get. UGH

Enough of me....glad to see everyone is still being positive. It helps me find the power to keep trying and I very much appreciate it.

Dust yourself, set a mini goal, and focus on that hon.

You're doing just fine! Your body will adjust to the water.

Hey everyone, good afternoon. Haven't gotten to read the entire thread but hope everyone is feeling good. Heard Scooter is back. Hey Scooter.

Candy, I get the shin splints too. They are so painful and will stop you in your tracks. I think it's caused by the tendons and muscle pulling away from the bone. I was told that they are caused by the calf muscles being too tight, pulling the front muscles away. Try spending more time stretching the calf muscles before exercise. Seems to help me. If I experience them again while walking/jogging I stop at the nearest pole, tree, whatever and stretch right then and it again seems to help. Don't get too discouraged about not losing yet. Give it time, your body is experiencing a loss it doesn't want to give up. It will happen if you follow the plan.

Yummm... I can't wait to have pecans with my pumpkin. And walnuts in my cottage cheese with splenda and cinnamon. And almonds in my cottage cheese with splenda and unsweetened cocoa.

                              Hi, Candy

I've gotten terrible shin splints from the wrong shoes. Even though they were new, they were wrong for me. I switched brands and never looked back! That was years ago and I've never had them again.

Also, Mickkey makes a great point about stretching.

                              Hang in there, girl!

Thanks guys! I needed that. I normally feel like I am on the Atkins payroll because I sing such praises of this way of life but lately I haven't been such a "rah-rah". New shoes...hmmm. That's a thought but I just got a new pair and I thought they were good! I'll investigate.

I will not give in. Beach vacation in 2 1/2 weeks so it is crazy to throw in the towel NOW!!!

Time to get another bottle of water. Thanks again!!!!
