    Re: Monday Roll Call 1/21/08!

    Good Morning!

Everything is going great. I am on plan but TOM is in the house so weight is up a little. Did my exercise already this morning.

    Sandy
your family sure has been going through a lot of things lately. I feel so bad for you. Thank God the kids were not seriously hurt. That is one of my worst fears being in a car accident. You must have been so afraid. My prayers go out to you guys.

    Jess
That little critter is cute as a button! And she/he looks like they have you well trained!! LOL

    PLS
When I did induction I did exactly what you are talking about. Clean induction and no weighing until the two weeks were up. I think your plan is great.

Hope you all have a wonderful on plan day.

Good morning everyone! It's a cold one out there, and I'm not looking forward to venturing out.

Sandy, glad to hear that your dd & her boyfriend are ok. Cars can be a scary thing in the winter time.

Jess, what a cute little puppy! We are cat people, and have 2 of them. Dogs require too much work and attention, and we travel too much and it wouldn't be fair to the dogs to go in and out of kennels.

        Have a great day everyone!

My sis works for a lab rescue and usually has her own 3 and a foster all the time, but her 3 are grown and well behaved....Keep you chin up-labs are the most loyal, sweet dogs-they just have a lot of energy for a long time. I'm personally looking forward to warmer weather so me and Shiloh can go for long walks!
Hi, Again! LOL... sometimes, the dogs find us, rather than us finding the dogs. Hence, the fact that I have 3 labs right now. Parker is almost 12, though, and a perfect gentleman. We've had him for 9 years... we found him in a neighborhood park, and never could locate his owners, so he became part of our family... and that's why his name is Parker.

Here are pics of the young dogs...

This is Rook (about 11 months old)

This is Bud (5 months old) Most yellow labs have a black nose, but Bud has some chocolate lab in him further up the line, and has a light nose and eyes. He is adorable.

We have a long history with labs. They are just so sweet.

What do you do with the cats when you go out of town? I have a couple and I've been wondering what I should do if I need to go out of town. Let them stay at home where there are happy and just have someone come over and feed them twice a day? Are cats okay with that?

Everyone's pets look so cute, makes me wish I could have one in the apartment hehe.

Sandy--I'm glad that they weren't hurt too badly!

                Liz--Congrats on the 160's!

Chica--You'll be down to 140 again before you know it

Today was weight/measure day for me....and up 1 lb from my starting weight and no movement in inches. TOM isn't due for another week, so can't be that. I'm drinking 3 liters of water every day, exercise 5 days a week, etc.

I'm trying not to get upset, since I feel good eating this way, and I'm making ALL my meals at home now so if there were any sneaky carbs from the commissary they'll be gone. Grrrr, it's so hard sometimes when you change your life and your body decides to be totally uncooperative.

                      Re: Monday Roll Call 1/21/08!

Had a decent weekend and hoping for a great day and week. I will weigh in on Wed. Did cardio at the gym today, and it felt good to sweat, and then it felt good to take a hot shower. I hope to get some sewing done today, so that will keep me in the basement and NOT in the kitchen area!

The dog pictures are cute! I have a pound puppy- part german shepard, part australian cow herd dog. His name in Bon Jovi! Love that dog, but don't appreciate the hair! He wears a tee shirt in the house! (youth x-large) haha. now you know how big he is!

Does anyone else use a different program to make pictures smaller?

                            Re: Monday Roll Call 1/21/08!

Morning, all. I'm just back from a 2-mile run/walk. It's chilly out there - feels like winter here in San Diego.

Today is my last day of vacation before returning to teaching tomorrow. I don't feel too badly about it - I've been off for an entire month, how spoiled can I get? - but I'm determined to squeeze every moment of vacation-ness out of today! lol.

Hopejoy - YA HOOOOOOO! What an awesome induction result! Take a nap - you deserve it!

And now, a word for Sandy:

Sandy, your life has more crises than most. I notice that you're off plan again. Here's the deal: These crises are there to tell you that you are not able to control what happens in life. They are NOT here to tell you that you are unable to control how you HANDLE what happens in life.

You cannot control your daughter's or son's health, or your husband's employment, or yours. But you CAN control what you put in your mouth. You CAN control how you respond to crises -- and that should be by NOT eating carbs. You CAN control how you treat your own body. You CAN.

So, Sandy, it's time to take control of what you CAN control, and by so doing, model for your children how to handle life's insanity. We're all here to help. You've got incredible strength and courage - we know that already by the number of times you've picked yourself up and climbed back on the wagon. What we need you to learn is that you don't need to keep falling off every time there's a bump or a rut in the road. You can hang on, and get where you want to be.

We love you, Sandy. You've got this enormous cheering squad right here! I'm passing out pompoms as soon as I finish typing.

                            Mini goals:

                            180

Wow, that's amazing Evermind. I wish I could put my thoughts down like that.

Go Sandy, we believe you can. Life isn't going to change, you have to change how you see life. Don't see the bumps as a reason to fall off eating the way you know is healthy, because the bumps will always be there. You have to believe in you. Food is not going to make you feel better, only you do that.
