    Re: Roll Call 3/14/08

    Mornin!

Snow here - UGH... I am so ready for Spring!

Went to the gym yestersday - did 1 hour of rollerblading = 15.5 mile - not too shabby!
Going again this morn - plan on 30-45min of rollerblading followed by BOSU class. My arse and legs are on fire today, I can feel I'm retaining water, but feel pretty good!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!!

MORNING!! Happy Friday everyone! Been a busy week at work with a month-long project so I'm glad to have a 2 day break from it! =)

Hope to see the scale go down this week but my exercise has been pretty poor this month so I'll be ok so long as it doesn't head the other direction! =)

Okay I have not been around the boards in a long time. I have been sick for like two months believe it or not. But I am back and feeling much better... I had to put myself back together before getting back to this wol.
My weight is down to 198 as of this morning and I am looking fine in my size 16. Granted I am not back into the fourteens as of yet, but that is my first goal.
I hope everyone has a great low carb day/ weekend. See you all on Monday.

          Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... ....

VACATION. Slept in. Took my time getting up. B-L-I-S-S.........

Having said that, I'm about to embark on 3 days of VERY intensive work on my thesis. I promised myself that if I do that, I can take some time off next week to play before one more marathon session, then go to New York for a week to see my mom. Woo hoo!

I have three and a half weeks off, which is awesome - gotta love them year-round schools! So I'll fit in university coursework, a trip, perhaps a two-day getaway with dh to Laguna Beach, and a trip to NYC. Woo hoo!

I also am going to start running every morning. I didn't this morning, because I'm a bum, but I have committed for tomorrow morning. In addition to my daily workouts at the gym, it will be an awesome jump start to another level of my fitness.

Misplaced - you GO, girl. Moms who are teachers often have MUCH more patience with our own kids' teachers, but there are limits. For two years, when my youngest was at my school (I teach spec. ed, but he is in gen. ed) I thought "oh, well, maybe things are diff. because I only know spec. ed....." HAH! I finally had it, moved him, and that was that. Kids come first. Our kids or our students. Not personalities or our own preferences.

          Everyone, have a great day!

          195 - met 2/20/08

          I survived a two-month stall!

Hi everyone! Sounds like everyone is busy or on spring break...YAY!!!!!! 5am this morning I woke up to my phone ringing... my brother on the other end...

"uhm sis? it's time, Shana's water broke 10 minutes ago, we need a ride to the hospital"

I'm in the van in 30 seconds from a very deep sleep, in my pj's and slippers, sunglasses on...it's totally dark outside. Try to call him back to find out how far apart the contractions were and mis-dialed twice (luckily it was people from my own phone book who just laughed at me) I don't think I fully woke up until I got to the freeway which is a good 10 minutes. Had to call all the daycare kids who will be at my door in 30 minutes and tell them the news and try to call in a sub, till then my 17 year old daughter held down the fort... she's such a good girl..... I'm back at home now just waiting for one more child to get picked up and then back to the hospital..... No baby yet, I hope I make it back in time

I do have a question.. My tummy hurt so bad last night so I ate 2 tums.. Was this a mistake?? I hope everyone has a GREAT Spring Break. Only 6 more day's until Spring
                  Mimom,
Do you have access to a YMCA or community swimming pool? Swimming is a great exercise that won't hurt your back! As for the TUMS, your tummy hurt, taking something to help, in my opinion, is never a mistake. What if it was all you had? Should you stay with an upset tummy to save a few carbs? I don't think so, but that's me. I googled carbs in Tums and if you interested here is what I found...
How many carbohydrates are in TUMS?

The amount of carbohydrates in a TUMS tablet depends upon the strength of the tablet. Following are the various strengths of TUMS and their corresponding carbohydrate contents (per tablet):

TUMS E-X Sugar Free (Extra Strength):
                  TUMS Smoothies (Extra Strength):
                  TUMS Regular Strength:

                    TGIF STACers!

Feeling c r a m p y I know TOM is right at my heels! Yesterday I knew it was true when I had a crying jag that I just couldn't stop! But sometimes TOM likes to hang around with the symptons and then just "surprise" me! GRRR!

I don't know what I'm weighing these days, haven't stepped on the scale since last Saturday after the ending of the No Weigh Challenge and won't check until April 1st., April Fool's Day!

So have a great Friday, those of you starting vacation, relax and have fun! Everyone else continue doing great on your lowcarb lifestyle. Trying is NOT doing, you either do it or you don't!

Things are good here, have a mellow weekend finally, looking forward to that!

For those of you talking about ketosis and the color, I just wanted to point something out: Ketosis is a state your body is either in, or not in. Deep purple on your sticks has more to do with how much water you're drinking and what brand of sticks you use than it does about how much fat you're burning. In general, you don't want to be on the far side of the spectrum, if you are, you should drink more water!
